Nah...Just got tied into coaching my boy's football team...I gotta say, coaching those kids is the most fun I've ever had...It was the Boys Club team so there were lots of crack babies on the team...They lost in the championship in double overtime...lots of tears....and I learned never to doubt my kid...He went from not knowing the difference between offense and defense to making the post season traveling team...My only goal for him when the season started was that he not quit...He wants to play running back but the league won't let him...Because of his size, he has to wear a sticker on his helmet that tells the other kids that it's not a good idea to get in his way unless they want to get seriously hurt...I was thinking that such a sticker might be a good idea in the real world too...Sure would cut down violent crime

youth sports are awesome...all those coaches deserve a BIG top o' the hat

Funny you mention that...My son came to that realization on his own...but it was not without much trial and error...So I'm taking him to his first game, and we take my wife's car, which I had not driven in weeks...and he asks me to hit the cd button on the radio and play track 3...Crap!...It's Duran Duran's Hungry Like the Wolf...and he's using it as his pregame motivation...I kid you not...It was a bad bad scene...and predictably, he played like the song...crappy...I'm happy to say that by year's end he had his mp3 player loaded with AC/DC tunes...you had to pry the earphones from underneath his helmet before the game started...someone ought to do a case study on music as athletic motivation...I'd start with the Cleveland Browns...Judging by their play, they're undoubtedly preparing for battle by listening to Abbey Road   [/quote]
