a few weeks ago, i had a stones rebirth of sorts....
i haven't been listening to the stones lately - and i before that, i listened with headphones alone...
a friend and i were at wallmart (yeah, i know) a little after midnight and were brousing through the electronic department and i heard the distant sound of luxury.....
i followed the sound and it was coming from a boombox set to a local radio station here in houston that plays a classic cd at midnight...
so i stayed there, turned on two more radios and tuned them accordingly so that i would be surrounded by the music on both sides....until the side 2 ended.
these were great sound systems......and for the first time is ages, i heard the stones....
really heard them.
i was like, 'they are fucking great!'
when i listen to music on cd, i'm either in my car or listening on headphones, but here i was listening the sound all around and just the sheer beauty of 'if you really want to my friend' gave me the chills...
i fell in love all over again.
