Well, he coulda died onstage if he'd wanted to......in about 20 years or so. SIGH. Sad

True.  But it could have been in a hotel room at age 27.  It wouldn't have been the first time or the last.

Yes, that's true too. Guess I'm just getting selfish with my rock icons in my old age. It hits me harder and harder when they leave this world....Sad Wish they could all have died of old age {so many...SO many would still be alive}.

I feel ya.  For me, it's just surprising that so many are still alive.  For some, the explanation would seem to be hard training (Mick); for others, ridiculously tough genes (Keith); and for yet others, a stable, sedentary home life (Charlie).  Only relative youth, dumb luck and Jo's patience explain Ronnie's survival.

Don't forget the Party-Drive factor....that primal urge to get to the next party. Some people live to party. It can be a very strong impulse in some people.

This news saddens me deeply ~ a 61 year old super-drummer dies alone in a Portland hotel room of natural causes. The life and death of a musician. RIP.

Probably not, even though this was just a "3 piece" band. But yeah...they are completely wiped out now. Sad

From the rock n roll era (mid 50's onwards), The Temptations (a 5 piece), Four Tops and Ramones (both 4 pieces) now only each have one surviving original member.

The Four Tops original line up lasted for about 43 years until 1997. Three of them have died since then.

Good research, Gazza....all that is true.

And, on the flip side, there's one group who has had 40+ members since 1958....and only 2 have passed away! That would be Paul Revere & The Raiders....pretty amazing statistic.
