Just read a few minutes ago that he was a cousin of Jackie Wilson. Never knew that.

I was really bummed out to come home from work and read that on the news.... Sad

Yeah, he'd been ill for about 8 years or so, although he was in the audience at a PBS special a year or two ago, when the Tops tried to perform without him.

I am more a Stax person than a Motown person---but there are always exceptions to the rule. Marvin Gaye, Smokey Robinson, early Stevie Wonder, Martha Reeves......and the Tops. Much "rawer" sound than the Temps or the Supremes. Love those other singers, but somehow Levi was the VOICE of Motown.

He will be greatly missed.... Sad
