A better "Emotional Rescue"

Alert Board Moderator about this Post!
  1. "Dance (Pt. 1)"
  2. "Summer Romance"
  3. "We Had it All"
  4. "Let Me Go"
  5. "Indian Girl"

  6. "Emotional Rescue"
  7. "Think I'm Goin' Mad"
  8. "She's So Cold"
  9. "Down in the Hole"
 10. "All About You"

Removes the two songs that really drag down the record, puts in two that got away.  Discuss.

The critics would have hollered it up as an urban masterpiece; an NYC dreamscape that matured the vision of Some Girls with telling sidetrips to Georgia, Berlin, and...Nicaragua.

(The original lineup:
1. "Dance (Pt. 1)"
  2. "Summer Romance"
  3. "Send It to Me"
  4. "Let Me Go"
  5. "Indian Girl"

  6. "Where the Boys Go"
  7. "Down in the Hole"
  8. "Emotional Rescue"
  9. "She's So Cold"
 10. "All About You")

2 Keef ballads? No way. That's what hurt UC. I'd have added Claudine & not dropped anything.

The only reason why Claudine was omitted was because it was litigious - and it still is.

Cant get the contempt for 'Where The Boys Go' with some people. Whats not to like? One of my favourite Stones tracks from the last three decades.

yet the liking for Indian Girl baffles me. An absolute stinker. Feej's version is more enjoyable.

Dance Pt 2 is superior to Dance Pt.1. Goin' Mad was certainly better than some of the dross that drags the album down.

Oddly enough, several of the songs that were left off or reworked for tattoo You at short notice ended up being far superior.

I think "Where the Boys all Go" is strident and boring, and it's their first song that really made me question their mentality at their ages.  "Send Her to Me" is just plain boring.  The dead giveaway is when the catalog of nationalities, ending with a feeble "She could be the alien," sounds worn out and pointless even to the singer.

I'd rather hear "Yellow Cab" tightened up and put on the ER album.  Remember - we're talking about a Manhattan-themed album here, and these songs do nothing for that effort.  My picks (including "Yellow Cab") at least stick some good songs in problematic slots.  Nobody really gives a shit for side one of ER after "Send Her to Me" starts, and the reason people hate "Indian Girl" (which at least has the virtue of being dramatic) is because the two less-than-overwhelming songs before it set it up for failure.  "We Had it All" is overwhelming, and "Think I'm Going Mad" a good tune that would play well right after "Emotional Rescue," as if the singer needed a rescuing, too.  The album could use its shot of salvation; see the wiki aritcle for confirmation.

Who says we need a tour, with such a backlash over criticism of *Emotional Rescue,* by God!  Everybody agrees that Undercover sucks worse than Dirty Work, though - right?

I like the album, agree that "Send it To me" is not more than a filler. "Where the Boy all go" is good, should stay. The album is just missing a real Hit . Somenthing that "Emotional Rescue" is not.

She'd still sue? I'd like Where The Boys Go more w/o the odd back-up singers. Indian Girl is interesting but I could see dropping it for Going Mad.

There is no way this album is "fine".  This album alone launched some 14 years of mediocre, mailed in releases.

Throw it in the crapper.  I want this  reconfigured version.
