Rolling Stones' Ronnie Wood Delaying Faces Reunion Over Money

Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood is delaying a possible reunion of his former band the Faces because he wants more money, it's been claimed.

Faces frontman Rod Stewart is said to be keen to reform the group, who last toured in 1975, for a string of live dates and new album.

But Wood, who received a reported £10million from the recent Rolling Stones Bigger Bang tour, is apparently keen to receive assurances that a reunion would create a large sum of money.

“Ronnie feels the money isn’t up to scratch,” a source told the Sun newspaper. “He has told Rod to up his current offer. But despite the haggling, there are no hard feelings and they hope to reach agreement soon.”

The reports follow yesterday's claim that Wood is currently spending £10,000 week on antiques and Ekaterina Ivanova, a Russian waitress who says she is his girlfriend.

Gee..I wonder why all of a sudden Ronald feels he needs a bigger guarantee to do some work..... Roll Eyes

If he's on his uppers to the degree that was reported a few days ago, maybe he's spending like he is on the assumption that while there isnt much money in a Faces tour, there'll be enough fans of another band out there in a year or two's time to cough up £300 a ticket to fund his idiotic indulgences and bail him out.

I guess he's not been following the news much in recent weeks.

Good point. Its always been quite evident that despite the fact Ronnie and the others have been talking about this for years, Rod has never seemed too enthusiastic and has been dragging his feet.

Ronnie bailing out due to not getting enough money means Rod doesnt get portrayed as the bad guy.

Two more points

1) Ronnie may have been up to the job of being the sole guitarist in the band in 1972 - but in 2009? Er - no.

2) If this is a reunion of a band of 'equal' members why does it seem from the financial arrangements that it would be a case of Rod Stewart touring with hired hands whose salary for the tour has to be negotiated with him?
