Big Unit wasn't that bad for the D-Backs.
Went 0 for June, but finished pretty strong.

Needs 5 wins for 300.

Congrats to Jim Ed.

Nobody did it bettah during his time than Rice.
He's very stubborn, not ever was a writer's fav, which
was probably why it took so long for those loser wirters
to vote him in.  Jim Ed Rice, great playah.
Ended his time with a .502 slugging %

Bert and Morris both deserve it, but sadly neither will see it.

Your memory is shit, bucky.  1975--.309, 1977-.320, 1978--.315, 1979--.325, 1982--.309, 1983--.305, 1986--.324.  Leave baseball stats to the pros.

Morris no, Blyleven yes.  When El Tiante makes it.

Silly me. I forgot to offer congrats to Rickey Henderson. Greatest thief in the history of the game and always an entertaining interview. If you could decipher what he was saying....Speaking of baseball writers. Rickey gets in with %94 of the vote. Who is the %6 who thought he didn't deserve to get in?

Blyleven deserves it.  And, Bucky, I lived those Rice years...google not needed.....I personally saw him hit over a dozen homers in those years...

adam dunn to the nats for 20 mil? does this make sense?

dunn is an abberation. dude's line last year was 40 HRs & 100 RBIs....all while hitting .236. i think he struck out like 500 times too. are there any other big leaguers whose average was worse than nick punto but are getting 20 million dollar contracts?

These guys are coming in on the cheap.
Abreu for $5 mil?
Dunn did hit 40 hr for the last three years, 20 mil is a deal.

I'm thinking there will be more names on the list, if it gets released
than A-Roid.  What a fraud Selig is.

The Nats were desperate to make a splash to avoid more attendance drop. So a guy who has hit 40 hrs 5 yrs in a row and ok on base % for 10 million a year I suppose is an ok deal.
