i can't compare the 2 really.  i have bought all 3-5 of micks and all 3-4 of keiths cd's along the road.  mick has some cheesey songs and so does keith.
i like them both equally as solo artists.

Are you fucking serious?

What the fuck?

Ronnie's IGMOATD takes the cake, he's got a few other good albums, such as Slide on This
Keith's 2 solos are great as well, just behind Ronnie's
Jagger has Wandering Spirit, then a few good songs scattered across Primitive, She's the Boss, Goddess

Cheesiness aside, great song!

Had this question been asked in 1992, it would have been Keith easily. His two studio albums piss all over "Shes A Dead Loss"and "Primitive Tool".

Unfortunately - a few nice collaborations on other people's material aside - he hasnt felt motivated to do anything on his own since then...although thats been somewhat understandable as his writing contribitions to the Stones post-1994 have dried down to a trickle.

Mick by default. 'Wandering Spirit' is unquestionably his best solo record, although it hardly has much competition.

Some of Woody's albums have had their moments (I dont count the first two as Stones 'solo' projects as he wasnt a band member when he made them), especially 'Gimme Some Neck' and 'Slide On This'. 'Not For Beginners' was pretty ropey, although I enjoyed the show he did in Dublin to promote it.

Based on the fact that the only Jagger release I own - or intend to - is Goddess In The Doorway, then I have to go with Keith here.

I don't beleive that either Talk Is Cheap or Main Offender are truely great records, but they both have their moments.

Take It So Hard, How I Wish, Hate It When You Leave are and Running To Deep are all highlights.

Jagger wins easily.

Keith could slay him if he placed more effort into it.

In the end, it shows how much each needs the other.

Quite objectively  Grin (no, really!) I pick Keith, though I admit to having a very very soft spot for Mick's "Sweet Thing" (the things he does with his accent in there, wow!).

But the power's in the team baby. The sum of parts. They can't beat the Stones even if they lock themselves up and try to make the perfect solo album for years.

I dislike them all because of their incompleteness.A few shining moments but overall weak packages.I guess I'm pissed the efforts werent collaborative as Stones albums.Mick's are too syrupy and Keith's drone to the same beat every song.

Mick and Keith did average and good albums but it´s a fact they need each other to do an excelent album or at least a very good album.

Listening to their solo efforts you can realize Keith´s sound it´s more important to the Stones than Mick´s
When Mick was running the Stones you hear disco dance shit like Undercover and Emotional Rescue, which are good but that´s not the sound we´re expecting from the band.

'Undercover' is disco music?? WTF? Listen to that guitar solo. And its probably the nastiest album they ever made.

Odd choice of era to describe as the one where Mick was running the band. If ever there was a period where Mick creatively took a back seat to Keith it was the mid 80s when he was unquestionably more focussed on a future career outside of the band.

undercover is one of my least favorite stones records.  there are 3-5 songs on it that i like.  this one and dirty work i thought were pretty much trash...again there are 3-4 song on dw that are great songs.

back on track.  i plan to dust off 'main offender' tomorrow and give it a listen.  it has been about 6 years since i have listened to it front to back so, i guess it is time.

everybody say oww
