Ah, distinctly I remember it was early in September,
When the Repub party members gathered behind XCel's doors.
They were shouting, yelling, screaming; I was sure that I was dreaming.
John McCain was simply beaming as the Palin took the floor.
"Is he kidding?!" I was thinking as the Palin took the floor.
"She's never left her state before!"

Then she set at once to speaking: "It's the VP nod I'm seeking,
And when I get to DC, we will drill for ever more!
There'll be no misunderstanding: not a tree will left be standing,
No bald eagles will be landing up in ANWAR like before.
Polar bears won't be freeloading up in Anwar like before!"
Quoth the Palin, "Screw Al Gore!

"God just came down from heaven, blessed my AK 47,
And reminded me to keep up doing His work in Iraq.
Screw the Mooselums! They hate Jesus! The Iranians just tease us.
Now the Russians won't appease us, so it's them we must attack
I live close to mother Russia, so I know we must attack!"
Quoth the Palin, "Screw Barack!"

Then the crowd she had just goaded all stood up and then exploded!
But as for me, my hope's eroded: we'll be screwed November 4.
Mack's electorals will be greater, but he'll kick off six months later
Leaving us with a hockey mater running things into the floor.
Yes, she'll run the whole damn country way down deep into the floor.
We'll be screwed forever more!

To dream the impossible dream,
To fight the unbeatable foe,
To bear with unbearable sorrow,
To run where the brave dare not go.

To right the unrightable wrong,
To love pure and chaste from afar,
To try when your arms are too weary,
To reach the unreachable star.

This is my quest,
To follow that star --
No matter how hopeless,
No matter how far.

To fight for the right
Without question or pause,
To be willing to march
Into hell for a heavenly cause.

And I know if I'll only be true
To this glorious quest
That my heart will be peaceful and calm
when I'm laid to my rest.

And the world will be better for this,
that one man scorned and covered with scars
still strove with his last ounce of courage.
To reach the unreachable star.
