First of all welcome Billy (unless you're the one and only BillyBol)

Lucky bastard... since his last tour in 2001 his concerts has been sporadic but all of them great, he is also approachable and very friendly with the fans, say hi from me and Rocks Off

BTW, Rocks Off is not the only place in which you'll read jokes like the above.

  • He replaced Peter Green in the blues breakers of John Mayall, he was only
  • He added magic to the Stones
  • He toured and recorded with Bob Dylan

In the words of John from the inner cover of Blues from Laurel Canyon

“I doubt if there could be a better choice than Mick Taylor who really shows his brilliance on this new album. He has worked with me longer than any other guitarist I’ve had and I hope that we’ll continue as a team fir a long time to come”

John Mayall 3rd September 1968

To note, previous guitarists with John Mayall included Sammy Prosser, Bernie Watson , Roger Dean, Eric Clapton, and Peter Green. Mick Taylor was only 19 years old.

Billy is the real name of our mate (and Dylan afficianado) Paddy from the previous board. He has seen bob more times than Bob has seen himself.

Billyboll has registered on the new board but appears to be content with merely lurking. Bumped into him after the final 02 show last August.

I was at the 100 Club show in '03, between the Astoria and first Wembley Arena shows. Had a real good time.

I understand some others here were at the show as well. Wish I had started posting much earlier, perhaps I could have had the fortune to meet some of ya'll.

have a great time- if i wasn't being dragged to REM at Twickenham,
i'd probably be attending to.

Last saw him  at The Queen Elizabeth Hall, in May, accompanied by Terry Reid.
I enjoyed it- but many didn't.

Hope you have a great time!

Any "preservation" of this show for those of us thousands of miles away would be much appreciated.

You can also see Mick Taylor and his band at the New Bull & Butcher in Whetstone, London N20 on 20 September.

And the amazing Rollin' Stoned who play there and at the Boom Boom Club regularly can be seen at Wilton's Music Hall (the oldest Music Hall in London) on 12 September.

Damn. You were? I was at that one too. 5 years ago yesterday.

The Wembley show the following night was the greatest Stones show I've ever seen. What a week that was.

Yes indeed, my first visit to London, and ditto about the Wembley show. Just wish I could have scored tickets to Astoria as well.

to be honest i'm glad i only had to walk round the corner for this.it was a nice enough show but a bit "samey"

the last time i saw Mick Taylor was at Wembley 1984 when he was in Bob Dylan's band and he has certainly been eating well since those days !

i'm only familiar with his Stones and Dylan stuff so forgive me with the song titles.he played half a dozen blues standards to start with including Twisted Sister ? Losing Faith ? and Fed Up Blues ?

then he took a leaf out of Mick Jagger's book and disappeared for 10 minutes letting someone else do the singing.

he reappeared with a nice version of Blind Willie McTell interspersed with All Along the Watchtower complete with wrong lyrics.or at least mixed up lines.

the sound was better outside where we listened to Can't You Hear Me Knockin' ? and the encore No Expectations before heading for the last hour in the pub.

they played about an hour and 25 minutes including disappearance.would go again but only if it was just round the corner.
