Let's go get drunk   I make my own beer, 6 gallons at a time. I'm getting ready to make a batch of pale ale. I order my hops and grains from a company in Australia. I have a couple of 20 somethings step sons and they like my beer, and considering how much they have drunk, they are not being polite to me. They will drink as much as I can make.

I don't drink hard liquor very much, that's why my knowledge of that subject is somewhat limited, but my friendly members of this board are adding to my knowledge base......

I drink 1-3 glasses of wine a day, 1-3 beers a year,  probably 5-7 vodka cocktails a week (martinis--Grey Goose, extra dry, straight up, with a twist, maybe a Greyhound or a White Russian once in a while), and 1-3 cognac snifters or whiskey glasses (2-3 oz.'s, a healthy pour) a day.  A little champagne and a margarita or two round out my alcohol consumption over a given year.

Gin.  I despise it.  Juniper was not meant to be distilled.  I also despise Southern Comfort.

Expensive Wino? Not really, many of my faves are only $15 - $20 a bottle, except the French Champagne, thats $30+.

Yeah, I'd imagine it would be pretty pricey for most.

EXPENSIVE WINE, $100 BOTTLES

I never bought any of the RS wines but I really love the bottles and always wanted them. Has anyone tried RS wine? No one ever answers yes to this Q I've asked around the RS communities so I dont think it was a great success. These will be collectors items.

When I lived in Portugal I used to like the "Vinho Verde", it was plentiful and cheap.
They had that "Bagaso" or "Agua Dente" as they called it (fire water....about 180 proof) but I didn't drink that stuff except once or twice. I could get smashed easily enough on the cheap wine...and I did.

Glad you keep memory of our Vinho Verde. Served cold it's a great summer wine.
As to the "Bagaço" or "Agua Ardente", in cold winter nights, nothing is better to warm up.
Now that I'm living in Grece, I found something very similar called "Tzipuro". Very good!

As to the "Bagaço" or "Agua Ardente", in cold winter nights, nothing is better to warm up.
Now that I'm living in Grece, I found something very similar called "Tzipuro". Very good!

You Portuguese????

Yep! With a wasted youth "Bagaço Certified".  Wink

From where? I lived in Praia da Granja, on the beach not far from Espinho. Right around the corner from the local Casa Das Putas.

Home of one of the best read wines "Colares".

Cool. If I recall correctly all the rich folks in Lisboa have summer homes out that way.
Anyway welcome to the board.
