Yeah to a point, but the refs did not allow all (if any) 39 points to be given up by a team that was going to contend for the Supe Bowl.  Really SD defensive lost this game.

I wonder why a ref in that situation wouldnt just let the play go on knowing then at least he could get it right with replay.Blowin the whistle kills any chance to review. Speed of the game I suppose.I know if had been Steelers getting that bad call we'd be singing and cryin too.But yes SD seems off defensively and Merriman gone sure makes it worse

Yes.  That would have been a tough call for any eye to make in real time.   Sure, they made the wrong call.  It has happened before and it will happen again.  The ref did not award Denver a TD or the following two point conversion, or any of the 31 other points Denver scored.

No pasta?  I was in Ohio this weekend.  Went to the game last night.  I went to my high school's game on Friday night.  We played Terrelle Pryor's high school.  They did not beat us that bad.  Only 45 to zip.  THen I went to Ohio for a wedding.  Watched OSU and Terrelle Pryor get crushed by USC.  On SUnday we found some fair weather Brown's fans to sell us tic at face value.  It was windy, rainy and miserable, and that was before the ride back to Pittsburgh.  Caught a cat nap, then off to work.

I need sleep, but this is gonna be a good one tonight.

Pats played a crsip game Sunday against a division opponent.
Cassel stepped up in his first start.
We had good plays on defense, special teams played well, offense
rallied around the new qb.
Always good to get a division win, especially in their home.
We are on to face Miami at home, another division foe.
Miami has a new coach this year, with the Tuna behind the scenes.
Miami plays tough, smart ball.  We will need to be on our toes for this one.
Pats open the Patriot Hall Of Fame at The Razor this week.

Love the fast start, but if the Giants proved anything last year, it's who's playing best in Week 17, not Week 2.

There's a looong way to go yet...

Joey Porter porpoise pitch

By Karen Guregian  |   Thursday, September 18, 2008
FOXBORO - Being underdogs against the Jets lit the Patriotsfire last week.

They don’t have to look hard to find motivation for Sunday’s game aginast Miami.

Dolphins linebacker Joey Porter provided plenty of bulletin board material in an interview with ESPN.com’s Tim Graham yesterday, taking particular aim at Pats quarterback Matt Cassel.

“I just know he’s not Tom Brady ,” said Porter, known for making brash predictions while with the Steelers. “So if it’s not Tom Brady, it shouldn’t be that hard.”

He said that while the Pats’ receiving corp was the same, “they can’t get the ball like they were used to getting it when Brady was there.”

Porter all but guaranteed a win for the 0-2 Fish, saying, “it’ll be good to go out there and get our first victory.”

Porter also gave more than a hint as to how the Dolphins ‘D’ would attack Cassel.

“You treat him like you treat a backup,” Porter said. “How do you prepare for a backup? He don’t get that many snaps, right? So you throw the kitchen sink at him. that’s what we’re going to do.”

Nellie.Steelers cut bait with the mouth a while back and from what I see on the outside LB position we are doing fine without him.Huge test this Sunday in Philly and I have seen line with Eagles minus 2.5? Gotta love Philly at anything under 6.....Maybe more
