Ron Jaworski was cool.  In fact all Jaworskis are cool.  In the late 80's officer Jaworski from the PA state police threw me in the tank in Slippery Rock, PA.  I must have made him laugh all night, because when I woke up in the morning there was a letter in my cell from him.  It just said get the fuck out of town ASAP and no charges will be pressed.  What a class act, and a cool dude.

Titans asked for police help to find QB Young

By TERESA M. WALKER – 3 hours ago

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Vince Young is awaiting an MRI exam on his sprained left knee Tuesday, hours after the Tennessee Titans sought police help in finding the quarterback the team described as "emotionally down."

Young left his home around 7 p.m. Monday without a phone, prompting the Titans to call Nashville police for help. The team got a message to Young through a friend, and the quarterback met with coach Jeff Fisher and police at team headquarters around 11:30 p.m. Police spokesman Don Aaron said Young drove himself home about 30 minutes later.

The story first was reported by WKRN-TV.

"Ultimately, it appears the initial concerns about his emotional state were unfounded," Aaron said Tuesday. "But no one actually knew that until he was spoken to face to face."

Aaron also said Young had an unloaded handgun in the glovebox of his car. Tennessee law permits unloaded firearms in vehicles as long as no ammunition is present.

Young hurt his knee late in Sunday's 17-10 win over Jacksonville and was booed heavily by fans.

"Given the totality of the circumstances, the fact that Young had been emotionally down all day Coach Fisher contacted the police department and asked for help in finding him to check on his emotional well-being," Aaron said.

The Titans said people close to Young called the team Monday night, concerned about his state of mind when he left his home.

"He was located at a friend's house, where we made contact with him. He then came to the practice facility where it was determined that those initial concerns by his friends and family were unfounded, and he returned home without incident," the Titans said in a statement.

Young's MRI exam was rescheduled for Tuesday from Monday with no explanation. Fisher said Monday if the injury is a third-degree MCL sprain, Young probably would miss a couple weeks and not be 100 percent for up to four weeks.

Veteran Kerry Collins is the only other quarterback on the roster, but the Titans worked out Quinn Gray on Tuesday. The team also was looking at QB Joey Harrington and a handful of receivers, including Glenn Martinez and Chad Jackson.

Brady Visits

Posted by Chad Finn, Globe Staff September 10, 2008 01:11 PM

Patriots receiver Randy Moss revealed during a national conference call that injured quarterback Tom Brady was at Gillette Stadium this afternoon visiting with his teammates and was in "good spirits."

"He's still upbeat," Moss said. "You'd expect a guy to be down . . . he was more down on Sunday. We had a few conversations, a few texts. But he's the same old Tom Brady.

"It's uplifting, seeing him [today] with a positive attitude, and that goes a long way."

Moss did not say how long Brady stayed. During the time the players were available to the media, a chair draped with clothing was in front of Brady's locker.

Gutierrez to practice squad
Posted by Mike Reiss, Globe Staff September 10, 2008 10:51 AM

http://www.boston.com/sports/football/patriots/reiss_pieces/2008/09/matt_gutierr...

The Patriots signed QB Matt Gutierrez to their practice squad today.

Gutierrez had been with the club last season and through 2008 training camp. He played in five games last season, completing his lone pass attempt for for 15 yards. His knowledge of the team's system likely made him the team's top choice to bolster the depth at quarterback.

The Patriots have just two quarterbacks on their active roster -- Matt Cassel and rookie Kevin O'Connell.

The team also announced that punter Tom Malone had been signed to the practice squad. He was a member of the Patriots' practice squad late in the 2006 season and was with the team for its 2007 training camp.

Safety Mark Dillard was released from the practice squad.

So, that's that.
3 qb's in da house, one on the sidelines for chalk talk.
All who know the system.
The Matt Cassel Era begins.....

Upward & Onward!

What a difference a QB makes. No Brady. Jets favored this weekend. Ouch!...Plus the Pats go from 7/2 to win the Super Bowl,to 20/1....Hmm,heading up to Tahoe tomorrow. Might just have to drop a penny or two on the Patsies winning the bowl. War horses couldn't drag me away

A Steelers fan, a Browns fan and a Seahawks fan were all in Saudi Arabia, sharing a smuggled crate of booze. All of a sudden the Saudi police rushed in and arrested them. The mere possession of alcohol is a severe offense in Saudi Arabia, so for the terrible crime of actually being caught consuming the booze, they were sentenced to death!

However, with the help of very good lawyers, they were able to successfully appeal their sentence down to life imprisonment. By a stroke of luck, it was a Saudi national holiday the day their trial finished, and the extremely benevolent Sheik decided they could be released after receiving just 20 lashes each of the whip. As they were preparing for their punishment, the Sheik suddenly said, "It's my first wife's birthday today, and she has asked me to allow each of you one wish before your whipping."

The Seahawks fan was first in line (he had drunk the least), so he thought about this for a while and then said, "Please tie a pillow to my back." This was done, but the pillow only lasted 10 lashes before the whip went through. The Titans fan had to be carried away bleeding and crying with pain when the punishment was done.

The Browns fan was next up (he almost finished an entire fifth by himself), and after watching the scene, said "All Right! Please fix two pillows on my back." But even two pillows could only take 15 lashes before the whip went through again, sending the Browns fan out crying like a little girl.

The Steelers fan was the last one up (he had finished off the crate), but before he could say anything, the Sheik turned to him and said, "You support the greatest team in the world, your team has some of the best and most loyal football fans in the world. For this, you may have two wishes!"

"Thanks, your most Royal highness," the Steelers fan replies. "In recognition of your kindness, my first wish is that you give me not 20, but 100 lashes."

"Not only are you an honorable, handsome and powerful man, you are also very brave," the Sheik says with an admiring look on his face. "If 100 lashes is what you desire, then so be it. And your second wish? What is it to be?" the Sheik asks.

"Tie the Browns fan to my back."

The Steelers are the team to beat in the AFC.  They have the poise and they have the moxie to take this all the way.

You like that game Winsie baby?  Winsie with the little swirly ice cream cones dipped in faggit ass sprinkles.  Ya pole-axed mulch biffster!  Sasquatch.  You got your socks pissed on last night!

Yes!

Supercedeas bond!

Yes!  Yeah!

Yeah.

Yes!

Shades of Appomatox.  Shades of Rangoon, summer '55.
