He's a Rolling Stone. Isn't this type of behavior expected from them by now? Let him have his fun. He'll clean up. He always does.

While I would generally agree with your take on it Holden -- our boys will be our boys -- the problem is liver damage.
That cannot be cleaned up.
At some point the liver goes, then the kidneys, and that's it.
No encore.

Ronnie was yellow during much of the Licks tour.
His liver has to be about the size of a Ford F-150 King Cab.
At one point, he was told that if he continued to drink, he wouldn't last much longer.

Laying off the booze will not regenerate pink bubbly liver cells.
Not enuf to handle that kind of volume anyway!

By who? That's a daft thing to say.

There only needs to be one time when he doesn't, and that time is approaching sooner rather than later. He's a 61 year old with ongoing health problems, not a 21 year old. If it wasnt for Jo, he'd have been dead years ago, but hey, as long as he has his fun and the band's hedonistic image remains intact, thats all that counts, eh?

I've just always felt that the Stones really don't take their lives (or deaths) too seriously. I always sensed they had a "I hope I die before I get old" attitude, you know? If he's happy about being irresponsible and having fun if it means shaving off 10 years of his life why not let him?

Oh, and I don't know if this is old news or what:

Just because he's happy about being like that (and I dont think for one second that he is) doesnt mean he should fuck up the lives of his family (the most important part of all), the future of his bandmates (because make no mistake, if he curls up his toes, it'll be all the reason they need to fold the band) and that of many other people who depend on him for a livelihood. Its not like he's some 18 year old with no responsibilities.

If the Stones didnt take life & death too seriously, they wouldnt be still going. I seriously doubt Mick, Charlie and Bill (when he was still in the band) would ever have fallen into that category, anyway.

Fair enough. I'm only 19 so I guess I could be too young to see the whole picture. I'm not one to really analyze the personal lives of the bad members anyways.

No shit. If Keith tells you that you're drinking too much, you know for sure you're in some trouble.

Ronnie has been on the booze for over 40 years now so I think if he was going to get "cured" that time seems to have passed. Its managing through now.I hope he gets some help but if he has treated Jo the way they describe it..then he's lost me as a supporter.

Maybe, this is not the thread to post this on, but I'm going to do it anyways.

I forget the name of the comedian who stated this:

"All the guys are saying how they want an 18 or 19 year old girl.

Dude!  Not me!  Give me a 40 year old woman who knows what the hell she's doing! "
