21 debuts at top of UK box office charts
Gambling film 21 has had a lucky stint at the blackjack table after debuting at the top of the UK box office charts.
Starring Kevin Spacey, Kate Bosworth and British actor Jim Sturgess, 21 tells of an MIT maths whiz recruited to crack the shady world of Las Vegas blackjack.
Having spent two weeks atop the US box office charts, the Robert Luketic film - based on a true story - has grabbed the number one spot in UK and Ireland, with £1.6 million in ticket receipts after its first three days on release.
Last week's number one, romantic comedy 27 Dresses, falls to third while the nostalgic Son of Rambow holds on to second.
The next-highest new entry was George Clooney's new sports comedy-drama Leatherheads, which followed its underwhelming US performance by opening in sixth in the UK.
Martin Scorsese's Shine A Light, a documentary based around two Rolling Stones concerts, enters in ninth, while medical drama Pathology - featuring Heroes star Milo Ventimiglia - rounds off the top ten.
