I wonder if the reason the photos of BJ at the concentration camp disappeared is because someone recognized him and took
them just to have pictures of Brian? The people developing the pictures I guess were in Germany or maybe in a place that
really had no connection to the Rolling Stones themselves and just took them for themselves? Brian was trying to say he
was anti-war and the other things you stated. It was the right thing at the wrong time I guess. If I remember right, it
was Anita who wanted him to do it in the first place.

I agree about the Brian/Nazi uniform thing. I don't think he meant anything harmful or disrespectful. I do think it was his way of doing an anti-war thing, but it wasn't taken well and was just too soon after all the atrocities happened. Look at the buzz the Nazi uniform still evokes---remember when Prince Harry wore one just a couple of years ago to a party? No, not smart. And Brian's photo shoot was probably not smart either. But I don't think it was some defiant, rebellious act either.

The thing that really bothers me is this: Years ago, there was an exhibition of pictures, etc, here having to do with the Anne Frank museum in Holland. I spoke with an older man there,  a Jewish man, and he said that as people die off who were first hand witnesses to the horrors, it will be easier to convince newer generations that nothing every really happened. And that the pictures were staged, or whatever. It's kind of the same thing with Brian and the Stones--the further from his membership in the band, and his death, we get, the easier it is to try to re-write him out of history.

We must never forget. The Holocaust. And even our dear Brian, and his life, his contributions, and his spirit.

O.K. Ladys, let me explain it this way...I love Brian very much, WITH his faults...there is no need to talk faults he made away, that´s hero-worship and not LOVE...but, well, that´s only my opinion or point of view how love should be...ya know?

I was merely using that as another incidence of people with NOT good intentions to try to convince people that horrible things never happened. The farther we get from the atrocities of the Holocaust, the more unscrupulous people will try to convince those who are too young to remember, that the Holocaust never happened. I've heard and read things to that effect already, and it's tragic and wrong! I am of German decent myself, although my family has been in American for centuries. The Holocaust was one of the worst atrocities ever in world history. Stalin's reign of terror {with at least 20 million dead}, and Pol Pot's regime are other unimaginable terrors. 

I understand why seeing Brian in that uniform is so upsetting to you. So many innocent German people---and maybe still associated with the Nazi regime....? I hope not, as the German people are wonderful people!

I am from a German family myself as you probably can tell from my married last name and from my maiden name if you knew it.
My relatives came over here to escape the horrible terror of WW1. I think Brian did not think either. He meant no harm but
did not realize how sensitive of a subject it is and it backfired on him in ways he did not anticipate. We will forget about Brian
long before we forget about the Holocaust which hopefully will be never. Some people  attempt to say the Holocaust never
existed but thousands of open facts in  history prove otherwise and this is extremely important for us to remember to
prevent any more recurrences. I watch documentaries on television about WWI and WWII and I have learned what I can
about these events, they teach us a lot. Everyone should watch these documentaries and read up on World History to
learn and understand all that went on to get an idea of the horrors the world went through and to understand how
important it is to never repeat these events again-ever.
