Astros win the NLCS handely, and will go on to win the WS. Bank on it. Mortage the house. Take out a loan on your daughter's virginity. There is NO WAY IN HELL that the Chicago White Sox are gonna win. The Astros pitching staff is clearly the stronger of the two. I say this as a Braves fan,so I have no horse in this race, but the Astros are gonna win in five.
Sorry 'bout that Sox fans, but thems the facts.
On my way to Atlantic City this weekend to put down a few hundred on it. You would be wise to follow my lead.
Sox are toast!

Congratulations to the Astros!!!
Didn't know how they would react after coughing up game five (two run lead with two outs, no one on base, and two strikes & they still found a way to lose)
Got to hand it to them- they came right back at em and didn't let that nightmare game faze them one bit.
Should be a great World Series- ChiSox & Astros (for the fans of both teams- one of the teams is definitely going to win which means the dreams for baseball fans in one of the cities will finally come true).
It's been 44 years for the Astros (they've never won- their franchise is only 44 years old) and 88 years for the ChiSox.

i am puzzled how one can think the Sox pitching staff isnt better? have you been watching the playoffs? do you see that the sox are 7-1?
Mark my words: the performance in the ALCS of the starting pitching will NEVER be duplicated....that is unheard of, and is a moment that every baseball fan will never forget! |

The Chicago White Sox pitching staff certainly did an outstanding job in the playoffs. I would never deny or belittle that. However, over the course of the entirety of the season the Astros staff has been the better of the two staffs. From starters to bullpen. The stats back that up. The Sox are a great club don't get me wrong, but I will stand by my prediction.

The two lowest ERAs in the majors this year are Clemens at 1.87,and Pettite at 2.39. Both Astros. Then you can go down the list to number nine. That would Oswalt at 2.94. Also an Astro.
The best showing for the Sox? Number eleven Buehrle at 3.12. I'm sorry guys but the facts are that the Astros pitching staff is clearly the better of the two teams. They are in fact the best pitching from the entire post season.
Astros in 6.
Not tryin' to be a buzzkill here, but the money is easily on the team from Houston.

IF the season was settled in the regular season, St Louis would be spraying the champaign...lets face it Houston Struggled against Atlanta and took St Louis to six games....the Sox have cruised, first beating the defending champs and then defeating a very good LAA team...the only reason they lost game one is that they beat themselves by not bunting well, not moving guys over, and poor clutch hitting. this team has been dominating over the last 13 games and I dont see the end in sight

Seeing Clemens, Pettitte, Duque, and Contreras all in the Fall Classic not wearing pinstripes should be enough to make Steinbrenner's head explode.
Everybody wins. |

The ChiSox pitchers, can they hit the ball? I'm kinda pulling for The Sox, but now The Cards are eliminated, I really want the Astros. I just don't like this prissy AL DH BS.
ALDHBS.... Fuck that shit. It ruins the strategy of the game.... Astros are scrappy... I like scrappy.
My kid keeps getting San Diego and Chicago confused. In his 4 year old mind the city names sound alike, so he keeps saying The Chicago Padres... Maybe the curse will live on... 8 men out! Way worse than trading Ruth! That's some bad JuJu... |

World Series?
Oh yeah...right. Yawn!
I predict that this will be the least watched World Series ever. It is the most uninteresting match up that could have been. The ratings will be in the toilet. Pitching duels make for great TV...NOT!!! The only 2 states watching will be parts of Texas, and Illinois. Oh and Vegas...they will watch in Vegas. Other than that, next to no one gives a shit....a few scattered baseball geeks here and there, that's it.
If the WS goes head to head with NASCAR, NASCAR will win easily.
I'll skip both. |

The ratings will be a bust....sadly tickets are not wide open. Only 2K per game were offered for public sale and I did not get any of them. My broker has offered to sell me a pair of 500 level seats for game two for $2450. I shall not do that as I would prefer to share the moment with my friends and family and feel free to run out on my deck overlooking the lake to shoot champaign! |
