Kind of odd - The Barbarians without Keith (Mac singing his harmony part); Willie Weeks on bass rather than Stanley Clarke or Phil Chen; and Ringo on drums. Anyone know where or why it was shot? It's obviously a pro shot, in a studio, but live.

Interesting choice to get Ringo on drums, and actually playing too. I guess Charlie had left LA and Ziggy was still in New Orleans, and Ringo lived there, so why not? (I would have thought Keltner, as he was local as well).
It's a good clip and a good performance I think; wonder why Keith couldn't make it. Maybe to not steal the spotlight from Woody?

He wrote a great essay for the Faces 'Five Guys Walk In to a Bar...' box set. Together they sound like Johnny Johnson and Chuck Berry. Or Ian Stewart and Keith Richards (who's a big Westerberg/Replacements fan).

Cluster Theory might explain such things scientifically (and you might include L'Wren among your unfortunate three).

I can't see - or at least wish not to imagine - the lovely supporting musicians' demises having the hefty effect that Ian Stewart's did.

When I woke up this morning my first thought was the chilidish one more people probably had...perhaps this was just a bad dream. But alas..

Like Fotini I too had my fingers crossed for Mac returning to the keyboards at the start of any tour in recent history. I even had my hopes up earlier this year when a friend of mine said the Chuck had a problem in his schedule...but sadly it didn't happen.

There'll be more days like these in the coming years, unfortunately. Let's just hope mother nature slows down the pace..a lot.

Their lives and talents enriched the lives of so many people. May the Good Lord Shine a Light on Bobby and Mac.
