Jdlaw, I think what people are saying is that Keith is knocking Bowie (as Nellcote mentioned-He's fresh, Innovative & creative) but not looking at himself, his playing now is sloopy, I mean on Shine A Light where he does SMU, it's just chords with rhythm, & he made a boo boo on that, he's pissed half the time, if not all the time, & he's not doing anything new, so he just knocks anybody he doesn't like in interviews, it's like before you throw the first stone, take a look at yourself.

I'm pretty sure I know what I like, and Keith busting on another artist is pretty lame. I don't like The Eagles, in fact, I loathe them. BUT!!! They do what they do, and it makes them rich and happy, and it's their art, you can't really slag that!!! Even though it sucks!!!

As Keith does this more and more {slags on other musicians}, he will tend to lose credibility. Yes, he is sounding like an old man...and not a very respectful one at that. "It's nothing to do with music..." Really? Why doesn't he just say he doesn't care for {or remember, for that matter!} much of Bowie's stuff. But to say that it has nothing to do with music.....

I agree that Keith is not what he once was. Maybe it's caused from years of drug abuse, maybe he's just lazy. Dunno. That said, all anyone has to do is put on a 1964-1972 show (say a 1970 European show for example) and you'll be reminded of Keef's greatness. I LOOOVE the versions of Jumpin Jack Flash from that 1970 tour (Keef's harmonys give it that extra something).

Although Keith is a man I always admired, I believe he was not thinking straight when he slamed Bowie. Sure, different music and style but Bowie is one of a kind. Often imitated but never equaled - always a true original. Truly a unique artist. I wish Keith would have think twice before yapping away such nonsense. Sometime back maybe a year or so, I saw the last part of the Ellen DeGeneres show and David Bowie was one of her
guests. He was talking about some rabbit that was part of the group (like I said I caught the very end of this) and she
just turned away from him like he was not even there. I felt so bad for David and do not understand why she did this.
If anyone has seen that particular show, please tell what happened. It sounded like a funny story David was telling,
and it ended so strangely. Thanks if anyone knows about this show.
