A Bigger Bang is just not that good of an album. I think it is tied with Voodoo Lounge and Bridges to Babylon as the worst ever. Why? Because I'm not on it you fools! What songs will stand the test of time? Nothing! Most of the songs that we recorded when I was in the band are classics! I don't think there is one memorable song on this record. "Oh No, Not You Again" is a decent rocker, but not even close to the great "In Another Land." Songs like "Look What the Cat Dragged In," "Dangerous Beauty" and "Sweet Neo-Con" are awful! I don't know if "Sweet Neo-Con" even qualifies as a song! The band sucks since I left. Go out and buy a Bill Wyman and the Rhythm Kings CD. I bet your local Tower Records still has a box or two in the back. The store manager may be using them as a foot-stool or as a makeshift door-stop, but they are still available.
The retarded child I had with Mandy Smith agrees with me. The other day, he grunted for me to put on Mick's "Wandering Spirit" or either Keith solo album instead of "A Bigger Bang." Do you know what it is like to find your poor, Mongoloid child, banging their huge head against the wall, holding their ears and moaning while "Streets of Love" plays in the background? The poor boy had ripped out a picture of Jude Law from a "Hello" magazine, and was urinating on it, screaming "Bad, Alfie song! Why Mick make Stones play it?!?!" Though it is hard to understand him, it was clear-as-day that he hated "A Bigger Bang" and any post Wyman-Stones.
For his birthday, I am going to give him an autographed copy of "Monkey Grip."
