Thanks Rogerriffin for this article from a Mexican newspaper Excelsior published July 27, 1975. One of the picture is the header I posted yesterday
The story behind this is very interesting; in 1975 the Stones announced a new tour as “Tour of the Americas” as the intention was to tour not just the US and Canada, also Mexico, Brazil, and Venezuela.
The scheduled dates for the Latin America leg included a total of 15 shows (4 in Mexico City, 4 in São Paulo, 4 in Rio de Janeiro and 3 in Carcas), staring on August 7 in Mexico City and finishing on August 31 in Caracas. However due to security and financial uncertainty those shows were cancelled early in June, a journalist from a Mexican news paper (Excelsior) was scheduled to go to the LA Forum in Los Angeles to take pictures and make an article before the shows in Mexico City, he went to Los Angeles as it was intended to promote the shows in Mexico City, but instead of this, the article was just to document the tour, the article name was “El mejor espectáculo de rock no llegará a México” (The best rock show will not reach Mexico), So it was like showing them what they would not see!
