Thanks for posting this, it explains a lot. I could not for the life of me
see any reason for the Stones to produce such a bizarre product

Algorithm-based passive music listeners refer to the 95% of
streaming users who surrender their curatorial power to automated
curation, leaning on systems like Spotify's Discover Weekly for
predictable background noise rather than actively seeking out new
or challenging music.

The bottom line is that my (and your?) instincts are correct. The
charts are rigged by the algorithms very much against artists like
the Stones and very much in favor of stuff like Swift and Drake.

Its one of the big reasons I enjoy so much the Stones fighting
back with their own commercial manipulations. War is hell.

Also you're right Rev, this Spotify AI suggestion thingy is utterly horrible, I can't understand why people would choose this over trying to discover new upcoming younger musicians?? I mean I'm so happy that I found out about Stereo Cupid and Hot Property last year and more recently about Fightmaster (okay they're an actor also and on Grey's Anatomy but the fact they make music really aurprised me!) and Cayley Spivey, IG actually suggested Cayley to me on my feed because apparently IG knows I like to see hot people playing the guitar and writing their own lyrics 🤣

Coincidentally for the first time in many years I re-watched "Gone
With The Wind" last week. Mick's line #15 is an obvious reference
to (the very charming) Rhett Butler's famous last line in the movie...

Tbh based on the lyrics I'd much rather guess Mr Charm will sound like Mess it Up 2.0, I can already hear it in my head 🙈🙈 annoying club song with too much synthesiser...not that I dislike synths in general, I'm not Keith lol, it just needs to be used properly, kinda like Fightmaster does it on their new album, highly recommend^^
