I do find Keith's demeanour at the press conference odd. He seemed not to be hearing things properly and was talking out of the mic half the time, which is weird for a seasoned interviewee like him. We always think of the arthritis but what if his not wanting to tour (supposing he doesn't anyway) had to do with his hearing?

Or maybe, and hopefully, I'm just making too big a deal out of nothing.

Keef handles interviews just fine...IE: Go watch his Stern interview from a year or two ago...no issues there.

I "suspect", not theorizing, that he may have been looking at Mick for a hint of approval to answer the question...afterall...Mick is the singer...and all requires the Jagger seal of approval...recall, if you will...those few times when Ronny blabbed about recording sessions and new albums without Mick's approval?? Mick quickly to give him a glaring look and a quick "shut your gob" nudge??

Keith was already staring at Mick before the question was even asked and seems to simply have been distracted and was hit with the question completely out of the blue. People who attended apparently said the location was utterly terrible and there was an annoying echo that Keith even complained about, so my theory is that he held the mic further away from his mouth in the hopes his voice wouldn't echo so loudly but by doing so he wasn't audible at all, which contributed to making his replies come across kinda unfortunate, plus it's awkward and annoying af (at least in my opinion) hearing your own voice echo through a room like that, so maybe he got distracted by this and therefore didn't focus on the question properly/misunderstood it, plus O'Brian doesn't seem to be the best interviewer ever, he was behaving awkward too...

Interesting q and a. Conan is clearly unfamiliar with the band's temperaments because the Willy Wonka joke did not land with Mick, and he notably talked about Conan's "mean streak" half jokingly which seems to have been a reference to his jacket.

Keith does seem a little off his game, but it could be for a million reasons. I doubt the band would put him in such a compromising position if there was something seriously wrong. It's because we have had them for so long giving great interviews that people forget their ages.

Mick sounds as sharp as a tack. It's fascinating though that the competitive sibling rivalry with Keith is still there, and his comment about Steve Jordan's loud drums - immediately after the comment about the Winos - was interesting. Keith immediately responded though, which makes me think he's fine.

Touring may be a thing of the past. I expect the odd gig here and there now - at least I hope.

Idk what you mean by different Mick, he acted the way he always does in interviews, smart and funny and incredibly witty, with Fallon he'll probably be a little sillier even

Keith on the other hand definitely will be more relaxed since Fallon's studio won't have an echo that distracts him and makes him feel awkward, I wonder if he'll make him play guitar again like last time and then sing along to it... despite him being a bigger clown than Ronnie, he doesn't have a bad singing voice Grin

Apparently there was only the skit...total waste of a great marketing opportunity, they could have at least mentioned the new album somehow 🙈

So Mick's apparently leaving it to Keith tonight to do the marketing lol...or at least as much as he can do when the interviewer is Jimmy Fallon and he isn't a proper journalist but just an entertainer who wants to make people laugh...hope Keith will be on Howard Stern again, the interview he did there for HD was amazing, I've never heard him be so honest and vulnerable before, Howard truly understands how to make people talk, he's almost more of a therapist than a radio host 😅

We only have about a month and a half of Stern until he goes on summer break...and now with only 2 shows a week, the envelope is even tighter for an interview.
Unless there is an exception and he does a special afternoon interview with one or all 3 Stones...

Now scuttlebutt is a couple of short promo shows are in the works.

Georgelicks shares the info on iorr, immediately gets attacked by the Keith fetishist.

Georgelicks usually seems to be relatable...he was talking about Racket style promo shows in NYC and London which might be recorded and released later this year... this might fit with the Netflix broadcast idea tbh^^

meanwhile Bjornulf was talking on FB about a tour being organised or something but tbh maybe he misunderstood the info that georgielicks got? Cause when the hell would a tour even take place (which would start AFTER the album release in mid July) seeing how Ronnie is playing solo shows? That would basically give them August for shows in between Ronnie's gigs but they've always had August off these recent years since this seems to be a time when Mick wants to go on holidays and hang out with his kids...

All I could see if they really wanna tour that badly and Keith would agree to it is one kinda like in 2017 starting in mid-September but tbh I don't really see a tour at all if Keith isn't up for touring because of having to travel so much, rather maybe some mini-residencies in maybe 2-3 US and 2 European cities

Adding: Mick said he would love to tour the record as soon it's possible.

Odd phrasing, cryptic. TBD what he meant, but tour isn't one or two promo shows running about 30 minutes each.

But the assumption should probably be the show or two Georgelicks mentioned, in July, then Ronnie does his shows. And if all lines up, they tour in 2027 in some form or fashion (after another greatest hits release with a bonus song or two).

Seems plausible; caveat that nobody knows anything.

IORR is still projecting their retirements and ailments onto the Stones. They've earned a retirement! I can't get up the stairs on my own, so they can't either! (Wouldn't you love to see their condition relative to Mick-Keith-Ronnie?).

A big factor for an actual tour is probably the costs of putting it on. With the uncertainty and huge price increases in energy, I can't imagine too many major acts putting on a full on tour - unless contracts were signed ages ago and marketing materials out and tickets bought. I'd really be surprised if any major act announces a new tour in the next few months.

1) for me, only two tracks on Hackney are top shelf, Angry and WWW.
So I'm very hopeful about Foreign Tongues since I've already got both the
new ones ranked that high...

2) but its also already clear this is not gonna be the Soul-heavy Cockroaches
album I've been wishing for. Earlier in this thread I was speculating that Diamond
Dust aka HD2 would be what we were gonna get next, in other words,
a harder more Stonesy HD. And that is indeed what we seem to be getting,
tracks made out of real stones and not just smashed glass...

3) Both of these lead FT tracks are from the HD sessions (ask yourself
why they saved them for now -- i say its because HD was mostly musical
satire, and these two new ones are more sincere). So the silly cover art is harsh this
time, rather than girly, but still silly for sure. And the Fallon contribution is surreal
"monty python" this time instead of pretty-vacant "tonight show" last time, but still
Fallon for sure (no sit-down interview this time on purpose, in keeping with Mick's
current marketing chaos strategy).

4) They recorded 10 tracks in London 2025. I've read that only a few of the tracks
on "FT" are gonna be from those sessions. And it should be easy to tell which ones,
because Darryl will be on them. I'm gonna bet that those tracks are the most
revealing about where they're headed on their next album (hopefully arriving in
time for christmas this year !)

5) regarding the cover art, I've looked at at least 200 of Nathaniel Quinn's paintings
and this FT painting is without a doubt atypical, in fact the worst thing this
great artist has ever done. So it has to be, in my opinion, something of an intentional
joke on the part of the artist and the Stones. Whereas the cover of HD was
intentionally a joke only on the part of the Stones, the artist honestly thought
they liked her very light-weight stuff...

6) Today's Wild Guess: Ronnie Wood's band for his May 11 Royal Albert Hall
appearance will be none other than The Cockroaches !
