B side, if there is a B side) just dropped on WhatsApp. Described variously
as "sparse" "bluesy" "old school" "hard". Apparently no vocal on the sample.

one source says the sample includes a video clip. of what, he hasnt said...

UPDATE: instagram link for sample:
(I must admit it sounds more "rough and twisted" than anything "soul"
or "muscle shoals" like I had anticipated. Sounds kick-ass, harder than
anything on Hackney. Sounds like the London Times description is basically
musically accurate, except for the "Start me Up" comparison, even though
I still have trouble believing those Times lyric-quotes)

I've been trying to place the vibe. Certainly not the "mid-60s vibe"
that someone described a few days ago. Funnily enough I think it
has sort of a "Live at the El Mocambo" vibe (minus piano), moreso
than reminding me of any of their studio albums...

ZZ-Top-ish? Didn't have that on my bingo card.

definitely miss the piano. maybe it joins in later in the song

FWIW, a Reddit-er has thrown this curveball, saying his record store
received a whole crate of...
"7-inch vinyl featuring the new single 'Mr. Charm' on the A-side, and
a currently unknown track on the B-side (some are speculating it’s a
live recording from a secret rehearsal)"

Common sense says there is no way the 12-inch "rough and twisted" can
be the same song as the 7-inch "mr charm". Not that common sense is
playing any role whatsoever in this dramedy...

If these coordinates are for the record stores, the nearest one to me is Leeds and that is 80 miles way and I dont have a car. Disappointed they are not selling in Newcastle as I am there tomorrow.

Im hoping copies will be available later online but that might be the actual single rather than the white label. If that is correct - and its just my opinion -, bidding wars on ebay will go thought the roof.

reddit misinfo

2) check out iorr for the rough and twisted chaos inflicted on fans/collectors
in trying to acquire this 12-inch or 10-inch single (reports vary on size)

3) first report on the full song via iorr...
"Got my copy from Red Eye Records in Sydney. Got the last one they
had I believe. Sounds great, very bluesy! The lyric ‘foreign tongues’
appears in one of the verses which would support the rumours that the
album will share that name."

4) The Sun reports today on the video (like Angry, a Stones-across-
the-ages theme apparently):

The STONES continue to champion new talent, this time signing up
Marty Supreme actress Odessa A’Zion for their next video.

The wise old rockers previously cast Sydney Sweeney in the vid to
accompany 2023 comeback single Angry.

Now they are hoping to repeat that success, as I can reveal they have
got one of Gen Z’s buzziest names on board. Odessa filmed the visuals
during a hushed-up two-day shoot at Battersea Arts Centre in South London
last week.

I’m told loads of extras of all ages and styles were brought in to reflect the
Stones over the years. A music industry insider said: “The video represents
the Stones through the ages. There’s a lot going on. They brought in lots of
extras to represent subcultures and sonic histories. The idea is it blends
everything from blues souls and punk kids with old school rockers and
Northern Soul dancers. And there’s a load of glam rock attitude, with

Heard it a few times.

Underwhelming.

Great to have them back and the sound is terrific, and it starts with a couple of haymakers, but the song never really escalates.

Stomping, mid-tempo blues rock with Mick hollering very Mick-ish lyrics throughout (when he's trying too hard to avoid cliches).

Reminds me of Love is Strong. Probably a better song than that, but limited in similar ways.

The song has a lot of testosterone, so I'm glad for that.

I've only managed to hear it once in full so far, in lo-fi, before it was blocked.

my reaction is two-fold...
1) stunning, ferocious, urgently want to hear it more*, want the lyrics*
2) NO WAY this song is the single that will accompany the above-
described video. NO WAY. (so I may get my Soul song yet)

FWIW georgelicks has now supported this point of view...
"The first single with the video will be released in May—a MUCH more
