Just heard the original demo for Some of Us.
It's great the way they can turn a 40y.o. demo into the song as it appears on FT.
Absolutely!! And I'm so very glad they waited this long to dig it out again because had they put it on DW it wouldn't be as magical as it is now, seeing how what makes the song especially beautiful of course is Mick and Keith singing together and they wouldn't have pulled it off like they did now during the DW sessions, seeing how they didn't even wanna spend time in the studio together then...in contrast to nowadays where they basically seem pretty much inseparable whenever they are together
To underline what I just said, quoting from that new Billboard article:
Even on different sides of the Atlantic, the duo’s yin-yang chemistry is palpable. Fielding similar questions, Jagger and Richards start from disparate places but frequently arrive at simpatico conclusions; they are sublimely mismatched.
“They’re absolutely incredible together,” Watt says of their in-studio chemistry. “There’s no Mick song that’s not better with Keith in it, and there’s no Keith song that’s not better with Mick in it. They complete each other. It’s unbelievable to watch and to learn from. They build and they play to each other’s heartbeats, and the roof leaves the building.”
