newstands by 7am

the phrase spread throughout the entertainment industry to mean the
drop-dead deadline in order for mechanical reproduction to be ready
for, say, the Christmas market or the june wedding market or...

HD needed to be put to bed in Feb 2023 in order to meet the
speciality vinyl production deadlines for Christmas 2023

HD REDUX similarly now has been put to bed.

Thus all the current "maybe" talk is pure silliness. Santa's fleet
of sleighs are being backed up right now to vinyl factory loading
docks all over asia...

I do think this rumoured European tour will eventually happen. Then maybe one last hurrah in the USA soon afterwards.

I don't think they'll ever announce the end. They'll just keep going till they realise they can't anymore.

an obvious follow-up question would have been "so, revvy, when
did the Stones get together and finish up REDUX,
including recording two new tracks?"

Answer: March 2024 when they were rehearsing for the USA tour
in what has become their recording studio of choice in LA

Then they perfected the final mixes/vocals/lyrics at their leisure,
mostly from home, over the remainder of 2024 plus Jan Feb 2025

Apparently I'm right again, Mick has been ensconced with Andrew in
Hollywood for most of 2025 (finishing up the album). Even when his
son Devi was hospitalized in London with a football injury last week,
only mum Melanie was there keeping the tyke company...

Melanie flew in to LA yesterday to join Mick at a pre-Oscars party...

and please keep in mind its not just the album, its the videos
and the audio-visual portions of the upcoming promo gigs
and the versions and the industry politics etc that are keeping
Mick working like a dog in LA...

obviously I don't know which beautiful woman will be featured in
the lead single video, but I do know that I want, with all my heart,
for it to be Patti Hansen

Bob Dylan to present Best Original Song

"I'm greatly honored to be invited to give this award for the Best
Original Song tonight, and much as I love doing it, I wasn't the
first choice to give this award out," the Rolling Stones frontman
said. "The producers really wanted Bob Dylan to do this. Bob didn't
want to do it because he said the best songs this year were
obviously in the movie, A Complete Unknown."

Jagger laughed as he continued, "Bob said, 'You should find
somebody younger.' I said, 'Okay, I'm younger! I'm younger than
Bob, I'll do it.' So here I am."
