Mr Charm fucking rocks, I LOVE the sassiness and shadiness in Mick's voice and the lyrics and the guitar parts are great!!

Then I listened to Some of Us and oh my...I actually needed to takd a break after it because I was crying literal tears I'm not even kidding, it is SO beautiful...omg the melody, Keith's voice, idk when I've last heard it that powerful, the harmony with Mick in the chorus and that part starting at 3:35 where they're singing back and forth in a duet style, it's so beautiful I'm starting to cry again just thinking about it 😭💜

I'm listening "You Know I'm No Good" again, it reminded me Gazza since he really appreciated Amy Winehouse. I'm sure he would have really liked this song.

So I listened to all the songs once now (except Hit me in the Head twice cause the first listen didn't vibe with me) and here are my first impressions of the 10 songs that we didn't get to hear so far:


Mr Charm: the lyrics and the way Mick is singing them, with so much sass and shadiness is literally priceless and made me smirk, a great rocker with a catchy chorus!

Ringing Hollow: a stereotypical Stones country song along the lines of Dead Flowers and Far Away Eyes, love the harmony between Mick and Keith and it's probably the most charming and beautifully presented protest/critic song I've ever heard

Never Wanna Lose You: a Miss You style four on the floor drumming disco beat that makes you wanna dance! I couldn't keep still, it was so very catchy and groovy, the Miss You of the 21st century!

Hit Me in the Head: I did not vibe with this song the first time around except with the guitar parts. It's a very guitar-driven rocker which I usually love but this song is somewhow a bit underwhelming, I won't skip it but I don't love it either (maybe I need a 3rd or a 5th listen)

You Know I'm No Good: I'm persuaded this song is why Keith has been gushing about Mick's harp play in every single interview he's done in the past few months, this is one of the very best harp plays Mick has ever done, absolutely incredible and I just love the slow bluesy groove of the song!

Some of Us: it made me cry because I got so overwhelmed, this doesn't happen often at all. Keith's voice sounds better and more powerful than in years, the melody is sweet and the harmony and duet with Mick is so so gorgeous I cannot describe with bare words how much I loved this song

Covered in You: personally, for me this was the biggest surprise on the whole album...the song starts out a certain way that makes you think you know what's coming next and then Mick turns his vocals around 180 degrees and makes it something entirely different and it was so fun to listen to, the rapped verses and the beautiful melody in the chorus, this is a song I'm sure I'll listen to MANY more times!

Side Effects: the most stereotypical Stones song ever, literally the Driving Me Too Hard of FT, only rockier, it's a classical Jagger/Richards composition, which they wrote together in the studio according to their interviews, and them singing harmony together and it's exactly the way I love me my Stones best

Back in Your Life: another stereotypical Stones song, this time a ballad, it was very beautiful to listen to, I won't put it on loop because it's too slow (for my taste) to listen to too often at once but I could very well imagine them playing it live in the spot they do e.g. Wild Horses...Ronnie's solo was gorgeous!

Beautiful Delilah: I did NOT expect this album to end with a delta blues song!!! This was a lot of fun to listen to and I'm very pleased that FT starts with a Chicago blues and ends with a Delta blues song!

Overall this album is absolutely incredible! All the great reviews were spot-on, I couldn't be any happier right now, I'm honestly so moved I'm starting to cry again while typing oh god I just love these old dudes so fucking much 😭💜

Also all those people who claim this is a Mick solo album probably should make an appointment with their ear doctor because if THIS isn't a stereotypical Stones-sounding record then I don't know what is!!

Also right now I couldn't tell what my top 3 songs are...I absolutely love Rough and Twisted, Divine Interventions, Jealous Lover, Some of Us, Side Effect, Covered in You and all the rest is amazing too (with the exception of Hit me in the Head which for some reason I cannot pinpoint yet unfortunately feels mediocre to me)

Stones shop. I checked my status at the shop site and it says being prepared for shipping.  I have therefore accepted that I won't get this tomorrow.   I dont want to sound like an IORR poster but this has totally fucked me off.

I know that by tomorrow the whole album will be somewhere on the net to listen to, but surely Universal who distribute the records know how important it is for Stones fans to have this on the day of release.

I could have just walked into HMV and bought it off the shelf and not paid the postage.

I'll probably calm down when it finally does arrive.

He sent apologies for the absent Keith Richards, at home in Connecticut, saying: “I spoke to Keith on the phone earlier, he’s sad he can’t be here tonight, but he makes himself very loud and clear on the new album, I can tell you that.” Despite concerns that the guitarist’s health has kept the Stones off the road, Richards himself has been dropping hints that they may soon return to the stage, telling a journalist: “my calendar is clear next year.”

So unlike some maniacs on IORR are claiming, there obviously are no conspiracies going on here, Mick and Keith are fine, Keith is alright and all is well 🙏🏻 also I can imagine if Mick and Ronnie actually decided to play a few songs relatively spontaneously (maybe just the day before or so), then probably Mick called Keith to ask him whether that's alright for him and Ronnie to play without him, so all good in Stonesland 🙏🏻

If I counted correctly on Apple music, Keith is on bg vocals on 9 songs (+ the bonus song too) and then there's Some of Us as well...but sure, according to these crazies on IORR Keith didn't contribute to the album at all 🙄🙄

I just listened again to Covered in You, Side Effects and Some of Us before I finally should sleep, and after the 2nd losten of those songs, I love all of them even more...Covered in You has a mean little harp part too...and I just cannot get over how incredibly beautiful Some of Us is

Matt Clifford gets 2 credits and RW doesn't?...I mean a bit weird...

All songs are now freely available on YT and I'm working my way through them as I type.
