1) the thing about iorr.org is there's a small reliable bunch of great
folks there that post all kinds of pics, videos, news links, merch links,
translations etc (which i often post here crediting iorr.org). But some
of the opinion pieces over there... one thing i noticed was that when
our anti-whining anti-nitpicking campaign was having the most success,
the post count over there completely crashed... if they couldn't
badmouth something, if they couldn't do snark, they had nothing
to say... but of course that problem is hardly confined to iorr.org

2) in his Foreign Tongues interviews, Mick has given some shine
to music artists Sam Fender, Rosalia, and the group Geese. I've
since tried them all, but none of them quickly hooked me. I mean,
maybe if I gave them more time, but that's something I don't have
a lot of (I did however enjoy Rosalia as the stripper with a neck brace
in season 3 of Euphoria)

3) Of the three, Sam Fender's jangly music appealed most, and
one of Sam's most successful tracks is a duet with Olivia Dean,
who was always popping up in my feed, but who I had never checked
out. Wow she is consciously and intentionally like a sane and sober
Amy Winehouse (including being too skinny), and is such an obvious
choice to guest at a Stones show...

Help...I just tried to listen to Rosalia and it hurt my ears so now I gotta listen to Rough and Twisted to reset my ears lol xD I knew Sam Fender before, he isn't bad but not something I'd listen to regularly...also I just checked out Geese too, it sounds like something one would enjoy when tripping xD if I wanna listen to indie rock, my go-to newer bands are Pvris, Fightmaster, Nothing But Thieves, Cayley Spivey

Btw Instagram showed me this new young German 70s style rock band the other week, they're called Corduroy County and they covered Miss You! It's a really interesting cover version imo 🤭 tho tbh I'd say their look is mainly 70s but their sound is also a bit more indie rock tbh

Yeah but it's vinyl, let's see for streaming, I doubt loads of people buy vinyl singles (mainly just collectors and some extreme hardcore fans), they're rather waiting to get the whole album as vinyl

well, this sucks...

I have no idea why the rapper Future was not included in the
list above of July 10 releases, must have been a recent addition,
but this probably blocks any chance for a Stones USA #1

"Future's tenth solo studio album, The Real Me, drops on
July 10. This new project follows a massive 2024 run where
he had three number-one albums"

FYI, betting markets have Future's album as 87% to go USA #1

FYI, Future has never done better than #2 in the UK

Gracie Abrams July 17 expected to do well in both UK and USA

Footnote: Future's new single is same old same old, and is not doing all
that well, but the video, my god, what an unreal collection of females

Btw I saw a pic of Melanie Hamrick in NYC... so it is possible Mick is there too (if she isn't just there on ballet business or stuff, they aren't attached at the hip like Ronmie and Sally, so maybe he isn't even there) and since England is playing in Mexico tonight, I think he won't be at the football... so maybe if Mick is there too it means that they might do a Racket style show for the album release? 👀

Yes it seems so, they definitely need to go touch some grass^^ at least some of them... I'm glad I can't post there because oh my... I don't understand this, I mean I bet none of them and none of us here loves ALL the other albums the Stones already made in these 60+ years (I know I don't), so everyone should be allowed to say that they like it or not without being attacked and called names...

His solo on the six-minute-plus *Back in Your Life*, the album’s standout track, is perhaps even the finest guitar part of his career. 'I recorded it last June, in the same week that my great hero Brian Wilson of The Beach Boys passed away. Sly Stone died a few days later, and that left me feeling a bit lost. Because of that grief, it was as if my guitar took a life of its own during the recording of the track. I just kept playing.' 'I’ve lost a lot of colleagues and friends in recent years. My mate Jeff (Jeff Beck, ed.), for example. Life isn’t always fair. It also makes me realise just how lucky Keith, Mick and I. ‘Is that we can still do this.’

Btw Mick and Macca (and maybe Keith too, who knows, surprisingly little has gotten out to the press so far) attended Taylor Swift's wedding in NYC the other day...so maybe while they're all there, Macca could guest on a Racket style show they might do for the album release later this week? One can dream 🤪 at least I guess Mick will stay in the US the upcoming days, seeing how England made it to the next round of the World Cup and will face Norway on Saturday, who surprisingly kicked out Brazil Shocked
