Having been undecided about DI I knew when I heard it on the turntable I would know if I liked it or not.

I'm pleased to say I love it.

I don't think they made HD worse than FT on purpose or didn't give it their all since it seems they worked very hard on both of those albums...I just think back in 2023 were still a little bit different times (world politically), there was no reason to be as angry and punk-y (i.e. confrontational) as now and artists also always have to see when cresting an album that the whole composition fits together...so HD was like more mainstream, especially lyrics-wise and less deep, and FT is very confrontational and in your face with the odd love ballad (it seems Never Wanna Lose You is that) or cover (2 even this time) in between to make it not too obvious, they aren't Rise Against or Billy Talent after all

They should truly rather have let fans like Gail etc or some younger actual fans to the front...maybe in the mid-2000s there weren't so many younger people at their shows as nowadays? but in 2022 and 2024 at most shows I went to, I was surrounded by other younger fans in the pit or while waiting in front of the stadium and everyone had the time of their life

Really outstanding job from the interviewer as well to get Mick talking about the past. Very clever trick with the covers there. Otherwise, it's very difficult to get Mick to say more than a few words about yesteryear. Really nice mix of the current and the past. It's interesting how times change. It's Dirty Work tour discussions in reverse.
