I finally read the article, strange he didn't mention Leon Russell. Leon was inducted into the R&R Hall of Fame by Elton John. Also, they made an album together.

The Union is a beautiful album. Don Was plays on a couple songs. My only criticism was that it could have been a touch shorter. Although it created some buzz at the time, it's been forgotten since, which is a shame. Still put it on once in a while, and I've never been much of an Elton John fan.
