Just found this!! Tbh when he says they are considering the offers I really can only see them coming to Europe next cause obviously they go where the money is and the cost of living crisis already has been harsh for Americans to buy tickets this time around, I saw loads of people saying o line how they couldn't even afford one show, so I don't think people in South America with all the political troubles and other shit going on like floodings in Brazil have enough money to get tickets, Europe is a better and more likely market...

So based on Mick's comments for more touring, what do y'all reckon might happen?

I don't think there will be a full-blown South America tour because of the current situation there...political unrests in certain countries, cost of living crisis even worse than in the US and Europe, great parts of Brazil have been flooded recently, met a new friend from Brazil at the Metlife shows who is a dancing teacher and said she is afraid she won't have any clients these days because people need all their money and energy to rebuild their houses...

Could imagine a handful of shows tho in some of the bigger South American cities in December/January and then a European summer tour

Or maybe some shows in Australia+Japan in January/February and European shows starting in September like in 2017

Just my five cents on that^^

"We've got a lot more songs, so I think we may be set up to make another
album quite soon
," Jagger said.

well, that certainly got my attention...

1) I havent really warmed very much to the Hackney album, but I have
adjusted a bit. I said to myself, "hey, if it had been an EP with just Angry,
Wide World, and Sweet Sounds
on it, how would I have felt?"

Truthfully, I would have been over the moon. So now i just pretend it
was an EP, and the other tracks are just outtakes

2) My view now is that Mick went out of his way to make Hackney
easily digestible for the swirling american masses, which was of course
the smart move, whereas I like his more spicy and pungent and
abrasive stuff.

3) luckily my six months or so of estrangement from the Stones
has done me a world of good, in terms of other interests, none of which '
are musical in any serious way, because there are no other music artists
in the same league as the Stones.  So I've had just brief flings with other
tracks, including Keith's Man and Post Malone's Chemical
(which i'm pretty sure un-credited Mick co-wrote)

4) From what i've heard on youtube, the Stones are playing great on this
amazingly successful (considering there's been almost no hype) tour.
i've always loved the Stones hype and other bullshit, so that's another
adjustment i've had to make, I miss it

5) on the other hand, I particularly like how free Steve and Darryl have
been to do their thing this tour. The more of them two the better...

They should have played it instead of Wild Horses twice at one of the NJ shows...audience there (at least in the pit) was overwhelmingly European and South American, would have had a better reception than OOT in Houston with all the boring Americans... that being said, I talked to a young girl on IG the other day, she only has been a Stones fan since last year and guess why?! Because she listened to HD and fell in love with them because of the new album! I bet there are dozens such stories by teenagers discovering the band because of HD, I wish Mick knew that so that he'd finally dare to play more new songs and not be so fucking scared of them...

Oh wait this isn't the setlist thread xD anyway to get back to the topic of more touring...

Over on IORR people said they heard first hand how some concert promoter from Italy will be negotiating later this month about the Italian shows of next year's European summer tour and someone on FB shared a post yesterday about apparently a handful of South Ameeican shows in February that will be announced in August or September

So this means, probably (just as Macca does in October) 5 or 6 South American dates in February before moving on to Europe and do maybe 14-15 shows there in June/July just like in 2022

sorry, i just tried it again, and "dreamy skies" remains for me one of the
most monotonous Stones songs ever...

mick did this exact same theme so much better in 2002, with a track
having interesting shifting textures and dynamics...

(it was literally my theme song back then as i moved from NYC to
rural australia)

Mick has also said in an interview that the extra tracks they have
from Hackney have more new and different sounds, which is
what i need and why i'm hoping desperately for it this christmas

'Dreamy' is  siurely more about taking a break, a riposte in the jungle but outide the urban jungle, clearing your head and trousers, about 'balance' in a way; whereas 'Hide Away' is more a threat to a lover, or fansr, or Teeth or whatever, with a bit of Lennon in '74'/'75+ thrown in (JL's 'deparure' inspiring many songs) blah-blah.
Wake up and smell the coffin, Rev. (I jest)
Any new Stains offerings would/could/will be lovely/gor-geous this Chrimbo.

I think Hackney Diamonds is way better than ABB. Depending on You is a great tune and Keith's Tell Me Straight is my favorite Keef tune since Slipping Away.

True, I'm listening to HD all the time and I basically never listen to ABB, but neither BTB...last album I regularly listen to is VL

So I'm very curious what else the guys have up their sleeves...tbh after what Mick said, I'm kinda suspecting that they might wanna do it like in 2022 and go back into the studio in autumn, take a bit of a break right after the tour but not long enough to get completely out of the groove again. And I think they'd do completely right with that, seeing how incredibly awesome Keith and Ronnie are playing atm

To me is one of the best albums ever, and no, I'm not of those who say, "the new album is the best"... probably this is the best since Tattoo You (made of leftovers) or Some Girls

Hope the new release of "finished material" from the HD sessions is even better than Hackney Diamonds, the "Tattoo You" from HD leftovers

What I liked about Hackney Diamond, as opposed to releases like (VL, Bridges To Babylon, A Bigger Bang) is its simple length. Also it’s got some good songs but that’s another topic. All three of the mentioned previous three releases were all over an hour in length. Hackney Diamond is down closer to the classic 40 to 45 minute mark. IMO the Stones did themselves and their fans a disservice by trying to extend VL, Bridges to Babylon, A Bigger Bang to over an hour. IMO they simply didn’t have the material to justify the length. When I listen to any of those three (increasingly rare these days), skip over what I would term a lot of the filler or what would have been, in the old days, called outtakes where inevitably (over time) they would start to become overrated simply due to its unavailability, rarity.

Listening to VL, Bridges to Babylon, A Bigger Bang becomes tiresome over TIME. Why? They’re too damn long! IMO

Wow that's such a good observation about the length of the albums! It didn't even really occur to me thid clesrly before but you're totally right! HD is a record you can listen to start to finish without drifting off or getting bored, well I used to skip Mess It Up cause I don't like the synthesizers but I really like the live version so I'm not skipping any songs anymore on this record 😅

Meanwhile out of 16 songs on ABB I only really listen to 5 regularly and from the 1e ones on BTB it's 5-6...there are some songs on these records I only listened to like once or twice because I didn't like them and never gave them a chance again Lips Sealed so I hope that for the upcoming record the guys won't squeeze too much material onto it and maybe rather give us some outtakes later as a special edition or whatever^^

Edit: while counting how many songs I'm actually listening to and enjoying on those records Inwas thinking maybe we should have a thread for that lol, like everyone can state to how many songs on each record they're actually listening to instead of skipping them, that would be interesting, maybe I'll make a thread for that later Grin cause tbh the amount if songs per album that I don't skip is my measure to indicate whether an album is great or not, e.g. I don't skip a single song on Exile or Let it Bleed or Sticky Fingers Cheesy

1)  i sorta do a version of that kind of ranking myself, specifically how
many songs on each album do i (currently) regard as an essential part of
the Stones legacy. My two lowest ranked:

Hackney Diamonds 3
Satanic Majesties 4

There are no other studio albums for which I rank less than half of the
tracks as "essential"

The only albums I have at 100% are Banquet, Bleed, and Sticky. Exlle
misses by one.

The highest absolute number is 25 for Finished Outtakes

2) However based on my personal history there is still hope for
Hackney. Because there are three previous albums which took me
over a year to appreciate: Blue&Lonesome, Steel Wheels, and Satanic.

Cool that I'm not the only one doing that! I think I'll actually make a new thread so we won't abuse this one and then everyone who likes can add their numbers for the records they wanna add them for Cheesy
Also I really hope one day you'll be able to apprecciate HD because it's such a great record <3

Yesterday a French radio DJ who has been right about Stones shows in France many times before posted about them playing in Marseille next year

https://www.facebook.com/share/V7VsBxRMzt1vf618/

And today there is an article about "some shows" in South America next year

https://www.the-sun.com/entertainment/11792150/the-rolling-stones-madonna-concer...

Sounds like a handful of Latin American shows maybe in February, followed by a European summer tour  Grin

As these things take some time to plan, it does not surprise me that feelers are out there already for 2025...but thats all they are at the moment, IMO.
Even with the 2-3% economic growth forecast, the financial states of SA are in such flux and all, that it is hard to pinpoint a possibility as easy as other regions on the planet.
This in nothing new. The Stones have cancelled a few SA tours throughout the years (starting with The 75 Tour of The Americas, right?) .
Hope it works out...It will be a good excuse to head down there again...maybe Costa Rica FINALLY!

Everything I have read so far about the SA rumour doesn't sound like it will be a full grown tour since they seem to wanna play a tour in Europe in summer...I think they will do the same that Macca does this October and play 5-6 shows top in some bigger cities spanning no longer than 1 month...maybe 2 in Buenos Aires, 2 in Sao Paulo and then 1 or 2 elsewhere, this seems highly reasonable, seeing how in those places there also would be people with the most money to spend, presumably...plus I've heard from people who know people and so on and so forth that what apparently has been the problem for them in most recent years, why they didn't go back to SA since 2016, is getting insurance for a full tour...so a handful of shows probably would be the best option seen from every aspect

I was just randomly thinking anout this after watching some IG reel about Greece and then wondered whether the Stones would come there...so I'm posting this here in this thread because I don't wanna make a new one, since it's loosely related to upcoming touring lol...I looked up when they last played in Greece and if I didn't overlook something, then they only played there one single time so far in 1967 Shocked any guesses why they don't like going there? I mean they also have been in Portugal e.g. and it's also a small southern European country...plus Greece has more (or the same amount of) inhabitants than Sweden or Finland where they also played more often before and more recently
