They're rubbing it into me with this release

I went all the way to LA in October/November 2002 to see the arena show at the Staples Centre at Halloween and the stadium show in Anaheim two days later.

Couldnt get tickets for the Wiltern as back in 2002 you could only buy tickets through the fan club if you lived in the US or Canada. (They only acknowledged there were fans outside of those countries in 2003)

Went home on the afternoon of the Wiltern show. On my way to the airport we drove past the theatre and the hundreds of excited fans queueing outside

Fucking torture. Grin

It was akin to being forced to watch Salma Hayek's table top dance in 'From Dusk til Dawn' with an electric fence being placed in front of your scrotum

According To Zentgraf the following shows from the Licks tour (if we're talking more Licks tour shows) were pro-shot and haven't been fully released.
Toronto rehearsal 8/16, Philadelphia stadium show 9/18, NYC 1/16 (We've seen 1/18 but not 1/16), Munich 6/8, Stockholm 7/22.
London and Paris are also due for complete reissues (like NYC got in mid-2022)

New York 16/1/03 circulates as a pro shot. I have a copy. It was filmed as a 'dry run' for the PPV concert two nights later.

The Munich Circus Krone and Toronto rehearsal pro shots circulate freely as well.

I've never seen pro shots of the Philadelphia or Stockholm stadium shows.

Amsterdam stadium show on 20/8/03 would have been filmed as well. Whilst the stadium show on 'Four Flicks' is from Twickenham four days later, some of the visuals (not audio) are from Amsterdam.

They were in The Big Apple too. I was at the MSG and Giants Stadium shows but - again - missed out on the theatre show at Roseland for the same reason! At least I was already on the way home before it took place!

I did 13 shows that tour (2 NY, 2 LA in 2002 plus all 3 wembley arena, 1st twickenham (had tickets for the other night but it got postponed), both Dublin,both Glasgow and London Astoria)

Best Stones tour I've ever seen. Absolute financial madness on my part though - but fuck it, I'll be a long time dead. Grin

He was on the Bigger Bang Tour

Story at the time of the next tour (50th anniversary shows in 2012) was that Jagger put his foot down somewhat - ie, sober guitarists who were capable of doing the heavy lifting required onstage. Blondie was apparently seen as a negative influence so was deemed to be surplus to requirements.

The personal relationship between Mick and Keith after the publication of 'Life' was supposedly almost as bad as it was in the mid 80's. Keith wasn't exactly in a strong position to bargain when it came to persuading Mick to go on the road again.

The CD sounds fantastic, though. Anyone else care to chime in? (I have not listened to or watched the release)

Disappointing results in the UK albums chart.

New entry at #95, twenty places lower than the Forty Licks compilations that has spent a lot of time recently in the lower quarter of the Top 100.

Also only entered the vinyl albums chart at #22.

I thought it might have done better than that even for a "vaults" album.
