People on bv's site groaning about HD selling "only" 1 million units
(1000k), compared to Blue & Lonesome's 2.5 million...
Somebody enlighten them about how HD compares to 2023's other
rock albums...
Metallica 200k
U2 125k
Foo Fighters 100k
Blink182 100k
Depeche Mode 100K
Queens of the Stone Age 75K
The Hives 50k
So yeah, basically, for their 2023 albums, the Stones sold more than all
the other prominent rock bands put together
ALSO:
As a matter of fact even most of biggest names in pop and rap are
selling very few albums. They top the album charts only because they
are favored by the entirely passive algorithms that most young
people subscribe to. If you google "streaming fraud", you'll get dozens
of articles, but that only represents the tip of the iceberg of the cultural
manipulation and kickbacks that are slowly but surely strangling us.
The HD business plan was for Angry to break so big that those
corrupt algorithms had no choice but to include HD...
Close, very close. Close enough to win a small cigar...
But rock music, in fact all band music is still effectively boxed out.
Even country music is now essentially based on the much more controllable
dynamic of a charismatic star paired for the moment with a hot producer.
Its very cool that Andrew Watt is so dedicated to the Stones, but they're
going up against an industry with no more integrity than the pharmaceutical
business...
Everything is going in the wrong direction
The doctor wants to give me more injections
Giving me shots for a thousand rare infections
And I don't know if he'll let me go
Connection, I just can't make no connection
But all I want to do is to get back to you
