According to Ronnie Wood, "the band’s new line up"

Christ I hope so, this is getting embarrassing...

With Mick, Keith, and Andrew making a point in nearly every interview
of the integral part Steve played in producing this album, why is
Ronnie and me the only two so far acknowledging the reality that
without Steve Jordan there is no Rolling Stones ?!?

As for Darryl Jones...

The Rolling Stones’ secret weapon: how bassist Darryl Jones
holds the band together

monstrous bass

I mean, I can appreciate the marketing advantage in promoting the
album with just the three familiar elderly white guys, so I was trying
to bite my tongue until after the album was released, but Ronnie (God
bless him) on twitterX has re-brought up the topic right where it belongs,
in the spotlight...

Barcelona Diamonds represents Ronnie’s latest abstract interpretation
of The Rolling Stones. Completed in the artist's Barcelona studio and
inspired by the completion of the album Hackney Diamonds; this work
shows the band’s new line up each interacting with their instruments
but with a composition which portrays the band as a cohesive ‘greatest
sum of its parts’.

Nobody made it a point to say Steve Jordan wasn't important and didn't a good job on Hackney Diamonds .. but they did not make it seems as though Jordan was any more integral than others involved in the line up such as Andrew Watt or the three Stones. I don't think Steve Jordan saved Hackney Diamonds .. I think Andrew Watt and The Stones .. saved Hackney Diamonds .. mainly Mick Jagger.

With that said .. He sounds like he is doing a great job. I will not know how good a job until I hear the whole album. Steve Jordan is solid .. Nobody is denying that .. but I don't think he was as integral as Mick, Keith and Andrew Watt were on this one.

I just think it's great that Ronnie is giving Darryl and Steve some credit as well <3
Personally, I never was among those who bashed Steve simply for not being Charlie...of course he is his own person and I think we should stop the comparisons because they're just as ludicrous as those people comparing Mick and Harry Styles...Steve is doing the best job he can under the given circumstances and everyone in the band seems to greatly apprecciate him, so I think those fams who're still bashing him are simply very disrespectful, seeing that Steve actually was Charlie's friend and Charlie wanted him to do this job Charlie for sure wouldn't apprecciate knowing that Steve got that much backlash from some groups of fans...I have seen some Charlie stans hating on SSoH simply because Steve is on drums...those people are delusional...so I'm very happy that everyone in the band is acknowledging how important Steve is for them and what a great job he is doing cause he seems to be a really great guy, a friend of mine met him last year on tour and said they actually talked about half an hour or so about louds of things, that's how much time he just took for a fan, it's incredible, what a lovely guy <3

Also what I'd like to add and what I found very interesting is Mick saying in one interview that he doesn't think the ordinary listener will even recognise a difference between the songs with Steve and the ones with Charlie and I guess he's right because also the ordinary concert goer only knows Mick and Keith and doesn't even know who Ronnie is  Huh Lips Sealed Angry
Plus in another interview I listened to yesterday Mick was saying about the songs with Charlie that they aren't greater or more out of this world cause Charlie is on them instead of Steve, I think that's a pretty great compliment to Steve and a "take that" @ those idiots who hate on Steve just for not being Charlie

Wouldn't bother me if Darryl and Steve were made official members.

Darryl has been their bass player almost as long as Bill anyway and Steve was recommended by Charlie.

Whatever happens they are and always will be The Rolling Stones.

I wouldn't be dead furious if the rain also was made officially a part of the grouping/cabal too - puddles, tiddles, giggles aplenty , as long as there is that groovy groove.
