The Verve vs The Rolling Stones: A failed Netflix show that never came to fruition

Naturally, the band were furious, with singer Richard Ashcroft saying that ‘Bitter Sweet Symphony’ was “the best song Jagger and Richards have written in 20 years”. The song’s copyright issues were always a source of frustration for The Verve, with it generating nearly $5million dollars by 2019.

I remember it well. Wasn't it the "go home you silly cow" lyric or something like that? Completely forgot about that until I saw your post. I think there was a quote in the papers from Mick saying something like: I don't know who they are and have no idea what it's about.

Richard Ashcroft was just another tosspot poser. All these wankers who thought they were suddenly hard just because they stood behind a mic made me laugh then, and make me laugh even more now. Their songs were utter shit, and they made a career by trying to subtly copy the Stones look and prey on the crap tastes of the record buying public.
