Band intros:

It seems like Charlie's passing has brought Mick and Keith closer together. Perhaps it has forced them to appreciate their relationship and put the rancor aside.

Ghost Town sounds better than the album version, which I liked anyway.

I’ve never been more proud of these guys. I’ve been welling up with tears all day thinking about what they’re doing, why they’re doing it, and that moment with Keith grabbing Mick’s hand last night. Absolutely love these guys. Cannot wait to see them on Thursday. Long live the Rolling F’n Stones.

- Anyone notice that Mick was singing "Satisfaction" with that breathy snarl from the original? So cool.
- "Street Fighting Man" was excellent; it was so cool that Steve played it like the original and the guitars were great. It sounds like he tried to do the same with "Paint It Black," but it didn't work as well.
- Keith seems to be paying tribute to Charlie by being on his game 100 % and emulating his professionalism. "Slipping Away" was absolutely beautiful and sung straight from the heart. He rocked "IORR" and "Sympathy." From what I hear, he outshone Ronnie tenfold who seemed to be off his game a bit. "Happy" was extremely strong as well.
- "Gimme Shelter" was the only song that seemed a bit off, Ronnie seemed to struggle in the intro whilst Keith was fine.
- "19th Nervous Breakdown" sounds fantastic. Keep this as a regular, it's truly spectacular.
- "Ghost Town" works so much better live.
- Mick seems like he got into even better shape during the pandemic. Very muscular and flexible. And his voice was strong.

I saw many clips and the recognition of Charlie at the show. I am quite happy and truthfully .. honestly pleasantly surprised.

I truly figured The rest of The Stones would go on without much said or recognized (ala Brian Jones). The remebrence wasn't over done either. It was real and it does appear they are playing for / in an ode to him .. on this 'particular' tour.

Thank GOODNESS. Didnt expect to see much or them to mention him except maybe a statement from Mick at some point during the show with a picture of him on the screens for a brief moment is all I expected. Cant base the whole show / entire concert around this theme ...and they didn't  while keeping him in mind .. in poigniant places. Well done.

Jordan is playing more like Charlie now as oppossed to the private show. My feeling is he did not want to attempt showing anyone up at their own game. However it is also different .. he is funkier at times and hits the skins harder .. NOT that he is better. There will never be another Charlie Watts. It is just different .. a different sound with some extra shots in the arm in some places. Yet it is still in the traditional Charlie Watts style of play in other places.
However ..Midnight Rambler is def missing Charlie Watts. Sorry folks .. it is what it is. It may grow to be a different sort of thing .. and thats fine .. but right now it is still mechanical and off. It will not be the same Midnight Rambler with Charlie but perhaps it can take on a new form .. and still be really cool? Time will tell. In order for that to happen they have to keep playing it... especially live.

It was the right replacement. It is different drum sound at times .. and thats fine.. it should be ..while in other songs and places it is quite close to Charlie Watt's sound. He is replacing Charlie Watts (bless Chalie) .. not filling in. He is his own musician. Fine line between playing in ode to Charlie to keep the Stones sound and yet being your own musician and respecting yourself. He understands that line and is riding it nicely .. and it appears The band is on board with that concept as well (bravo). The fundemantals of Watts play are there. Jordan brings a bit of direct punch and harsher sound at times... other times it is more of a funky drum approach .... at other times / songs it is quite close to before with CW in sound and in style>>>  It is a nice balance.

Look folks ... There is no 'replacing' Chalrlie Watts figuratively speaking ... but that is not the point or the aim (and it shouldnt be). It is sort of a new take on things. The path has forked .. Lil different direction from here out.

Yes.. I saw that. Pretty touching. I was damn pissed before this tour started. I thought they were going to basically sweep Charlie Watts legacy under the carpet besides a quick mention and image. I didnt expect them to start the show with such a video etc. I didnt even expect them to do interviews before the tour or during in order to avoid questions or having to address Charlie Watts absence. I thought it was going to be that route they were taking and I was like even though Charlie wouldnt want the attention ... having as little possible is a big "waaaait.. hell nah'. I am surprised (and pleasantly so) this def was not the case (and it was not over done). Gosh ... Charlie was very special (I tell ya .. I am kinda sad ... as if I actually knew him like a good neighbor of mine for 40 plus years).

Look not that the show is a tribute type of thing specifically .. it isn't (nor should it be). Cant base the premise of the tour on a downer .. sure it is a part of that .. due to circumstance and they respectully address it .. but it is still a Stones show and it is still suppossed to be a kick arse time in itself. The gist is that they are currently  carrying on in his memory is how it is ... and that is perfect IMO (for right now anyway).

I was worried they were trying to brush this off ... (thank GOODNESS it wasnt the case). They didn't even have to do as much as they did .. they presented the show that way bc they really do miss and value what he was to them. Charlie wouldnt of even really wanted em to .. but they jus HAVE to be human .. a little .. and they truly have.

I didnt think Mick or Keith would bat-a- eye at this point or give any remembrence now that the tour had started. It was good to see they have. As was said ... cant base the show on Charlies passing .. or have it a memorial concert etc .. it isnt a 9/11 benefit show ... I mean, nobody wants that sort of thing here ... <<< and it wasnt... yet Charlie was quite recognized and remembered at the same time.

The three of em roll on.  Jordan will add a new take on things sonically.

Reviews I have come across have been mostly positive. Mick looks fabulous absolutely fabulous!

We still make dreams come true...

ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - The owner of Crown Candy Kitchen says he has had a "stupid grin" on his face ever since Sunday night when Rolling Stones lead singer Mick Jagger gave his restaurant an on-stage shoutout during their concert in St. Louis.
