C10 - 20 Year Anniversary

Holy mother of J. fucking Christ, I think I missed it by a week. Late August 2001?

Better late than never.

For those of you too young or too new here to know what C10 is: it basically set the Stones internet on fire. It was the fucking moon landing of intellectual Stones pursuits.

I'm not sure where most of those guys are. There was something like ten of them. Incarceration undoubtedly got most. The rest, probably years of intoxication have rendered them drooling idiots.

But twenty years later, you can go up on a steep hill in Cleveland and look West, and with the right kind of eyes you can almost see the C10 high-water mark—that place where the wave finally broke and rolled back.

Twenty Years Already ---- I forgot . That was one month before 9/11 [ ...... I still remember helping to set up televisions in the Compaq ( Now HP ) Company Conference Room( s ) ---- all six floors as every meeting was cancelled ----- to watch what was happening that horrific day . ] Damn ! The GODS must have been mad at us for having so much fun that weekend .

Baby Steelie , C10 and Octavious Washington , C10 are still in Prison ( ... Joliet State Penitentiary ) . Baby Marko , C10 is Free .

I certainly remembered the anniversary, first weekend in august 2,3,4 something like that.
It sure doesn’t seem like 20 years since 10 crazy Stones fanatics from around the U.S. and Finland met in Cleveland for a weekend meet and greet that wasn’t associated with a Stones gig. Great memories although a bit foggy from the consumption of adult beverages and other assorted stimulants.😳😉😃.
I can’t count how many people I forced to listen to the whole story over the years. Many thought we had to be nuts. Little did they know………

Wow, I thought that was a hallucination.

My recollection was that crazy bastard Marko, who likes pie, was coming over from Finland to check out the R&R HOF. SS and FPM thought it would be real nice to pick him up from the airport (Philly?) and drive him to Cleveland. 2000 Man, who was local, offered his place for a get together, and then a bunch of us thought, hey let's go see what's up.

Fun time. Got to meet a great group of Stones fanatics, go to HOF for a memorabilia show, eat at the Hard Rock, cook steak and drink Milk Stout, and create some great memories.

Steelie....those vacant, vacant eyes....

Geezus. I'm usually a nut for what happened when.

Our drunken rampage included Baby Steelie and I running through metal detectors with video cameras at the airport when Maxmeister flew in, an activity which would've ended up in Gitmo if undertaken a month later.

I'm still around, retired from the state. I have MS but it doesn't keep me from having fun. I turned 64 this year, and my 42-year old punk band just played at our country fair on Labor Day. I managed to get through adulthood without ever growing up.

My son (who just turned 30 today) and I are going to see the Stones in Pittsburgh.
