Tattoo You reissue

Just got an e-mail from the official site which seems to confirm 19th August at 2 pm (UK time) as the announcement for the Tattoo You reissue

'Get Ready to be Re-inked' goes the tagline

Bizarrely, they've provided a link to an unofficial youtube account (Rolling Stones Data - its a good one, always worth following) showing the youtube marketing promo by Mick this time 40 years ago (check out the artwork in the background.... Shocked)

Going by the artwork, it looks like 'Trouble's a-Comin' is one of the bonus tracks.

If the reports about a 4-CD/5 LP set are true, I guess it'll be

CD 1/LP 1 - original album
CD 2/LP 2 - outtakes
CD 3 & 4/LP 3, 4 & 5 - a full 1981 concert.

Trying to figure out the titles of the unreleased songs based on the above images.  The recently circulated 'Trouble's a comin' is the only one that's jumping out at me.

There was a song cut for 'Black and Blue' called 'English Rose'. Maybe the white roses at the top of the picture are a reference to that one.

Gazza, dear friend, you ain't got squat on those lemmings over at IORR.
They have it AAAAAAALLLLLLL figured out...LOL

I still think it is hilarious that TATTOO YOU, essentially, an album that is a collection of outtakes from ~1974-1980, is getting reissued with additional outtakes that didn't even make to the first cut of outtakes...a collection of outtakes with the addition of outtakes of outtakes.

I am curious as to what songs from the recent FFSO will make it to this collection...

Yeah, the concept is ludicrous. Whatever songs get included, I doubt many (if any) were amongst those under consideration in spring 1981.

It's here...
Regular 2-CD edition + Super Deluxe Edition. Details below:

DESCRIPTION
The Rolling Stones | Tattoo You (40th Anniversary Remastered Super Deluxe 5LP Boxset)

Release Date: 22 October, 2021

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Includes 5 x 180g Heavyweight Vinyl. (LP1 Brand New 2021 Remaster of Tattoo You, LP2 Lost & Found:

9 Previously Unreleased Tracks, LP3, 4 & 5 Still Life: Wembley Stadium 1982) + 124 page book & lenticular artwork.

Tattoo You celebrates 40 years with the release of a brand new deluxe remastered edition of the chart topping, multi-platinum album. The Super Deluxe 5LP Boxset includes the newly remastered version of Tattoo You, Lost & Found, Still Life: Wembley Stadium 1982 plus a bonus picture disc pressing of Tattoo You and a 124 Page Book featuring over 200 rare photos from recording sessions & world tour + interviews with producer Chris Kimsey & photographer Hubert Kretzscmar.

The package includes a special lenticular sleeve.

The Lost & Found disc contains no fewer than nine previously unreleased songs from the period of the album's original release, newly completed and enhanced with additional vocals and guitar by the band. Among these, 'Living In The Heart Of Love' is a quintessential Stones rock workout with all of the group on top form, complete with urgent guitar licks and fine piano detail.

Other highlights of Lost & Found include a killer version of 'Shame, Shame, Shame’, first recorded in 1963 by one of the band's blues heroes, Jimmy Reed; their reading of Dobie Gray's soul gem 'Drift Away'; and a fascinating reggae-tinged version of 'Start Me Up’.

Still Life: Wembley Stadium 1982 is an unmissable memento of the band's London show in June of that year on the Tattoo You tour.

The mighty 26-track set is packed with Stones mega-hits, including an opening 'Under My Thumb' and all-time greats such as 'Let's Spend The Night Together’, 'Honky Tonk Women' and 'Brown Sugar’.
The Wembley show has covers of the Temptations' 'Just My Imagination,' Eddie Cochran's 'Twenty Flight Rock,' the Miracles' 'Going To A Go Go' and early rock 'n' roller the Big Bopper's 'Chantilly Lace.' It also features early live workouts for tracks from the then-new Tattoo You such as 'Start Me Up’, 'Neighbours’, 'Little T&A' and 'Hang Fire’.

Nine bonus tracks is rather paltry.

Good to see 'Fiji Jim' and 'Its a Lie' getting a release. I thought we may have missed the boat with those two when they were left off the 'Some Girls' reissue.

'Come To The Ball' is the only 'new' song I've never heard of. Maybe its a new title for a song that was previously documented (in the way that 'Have You Seen Her Ass' was retitled 'All The Rage' )

I wonder which of the two Wembley shows will be released.

'Living In The Heart of Love' will be the first single, released this week. Expect a video to be unveiled later today.

'Trouble's a Comin' will be released as the second single on September 24th with 'Come to the Ball' listed as a 'DSP focus track' (not sure what that is) when the album comes out on October 22nd.

It was. And this is different again. It's about 44 seconds longer for a start (4:13 vs 3:29). The long-bootlegged take is about 4:07.

Same basic take but there's been some recent vocals and guitars added for sure. And a more prominent piano (not sure if thats added or simply a case of it being brought up higher in the mix)

The promo video features a brief snippet of 'Drift Away', which also sounds like the vocal has been touched up a little

I was never a fan of Living in the Heart of Love.  I'd rather hear them push Fiji Jim, though I haven't yet heard how much it's junked up with overdubs.

Dylan's people are (mostly) better at assembling "Bootleg Series" collections, because they understand that the fans who want this stuff want it handled as archival material and not product retreaded into potential Spotify hits.  Why can't we have one of the two Fiji Jim takes overdubbed and the other left raw?  Are they going to tart up the reggae Start Me Up until it's bastardized?

Not even anything from the 80's at all, LOL.

Just from my own research and notes I had from the FFSO thread:

Side C

Living In The Heart Of Love  - 1974
Fiji Jim  - 1978
Troubles A’ Comin  - 1972
Shame Shame Shame  - 1975 or 1978
DriftAway - 1974

Side D

It’s A Lie - 1978
Come To The Ball - ???
Fast Talking Slow Walking - 1972
Start Me Up (Early Version) - 1975ish
