BREAKING: this thread is dead. Despite the backing of JP Morgan and a bevy of
billionaires, the Super League has been defeated, see below

i'm shocked SHOCKED that the most important sports story of this century is
passing without comment on iorr dot org, even though there's many huge fans
of the sport that participate there and discuss FIFA/World Cup etc.

Like any good Yank/Aussie I personally do not give a shit about s o c c e r,
but i do respect fan enthusiasm a lot, and its impossible to top the
fervor of the millions that have made the World Game number one.

So i find this silence about the issue on iorr and, frankly, here to
be very puzzling. Fortunately i have the super-articulate Russel
Brand to lay it all out for me...

BREAKING

All six English clubs have now pulled out of the European Super League.

Manchester United, Manchester City, Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur
announced they will withdraw from the new continental league, as the remaining Spanish
and Italian clubs were left to survey their dwindling options.

The decisions came following mounting anger and the threat of sanctions.

Following a meeting of the 14 English top tier clubs not involved in the proposal, the
Premier League said it was considering “all actions” to prevent the project from progressing
and threatened to hold the six breakaway clubs “to account”. The clubs said they “unanimously
and vigorously rejected” the plans.

Not-so-Super league anymore!
