Mick Jagger will host a very special one-off show on Planet Rock this weekend.
The Rolling Stones frontman and co-founder will host The Blues Power Sunday Brunch on Planet Rock from midday on Sunday 13th December 2020.
During the exclusive one-hour show, Mick will cherry pick a selection of his favourite blues tracks, tells us about his love of the genre and why he’s chosen these essential tunes.
Mick’s playlist spans the decades from contemporary acts like Alabama Shakes and Fantastic Negrito to those firm favourites that inspired The Rolling Stones in the very beginning; the legends of American Roots music including Buddy Guy, Freddie King & Little Walter.
Mick also delves further into his vast record collection to bring us his favourites from early pioneers of the blues including Memphis Minnie and Sister Rosetta Tharpe.
Commenting on his Planet Rock show, Mick Jagger says: “Doing this Blues Power show at home during lockdown for Planet Rock was a lot of fun. I do hope the listeners enjoy the selections and my mutterings. Happy New Year to everyone.”
