Keith Richards gets no satisfaction from a cell phone — because he doesn’t have one.
“I’m not at all hooked in any high-tech internets,” the Rolling Stones rocker told The Associated Press in a new interview.
“I don’t even have a (cell) phone, man," Richards continued. "I’m talking to you from on a landline. Why would I want a (cell) phone? You crazy?”

Richards, 76, also spoke about how the ongoing coronavirus pandemic has impacted his music career.
The Rolling Stones had been slated to tour in North America earlier this year, but were forced to postpone the concerts due to safety concerns.
Richards told The AP he’s getting “antsy” to return to performing, and while he and bandmate Mick Jagger have shared lyrics for new music over the phone, they’ve been unable to complete their latest album.
“Over the years we’ve figured out how to put our stuff together in different ways," explained Richards. “We’re writing stuff now. I think we have about half an album done. We kind of got hung up because of the usual, 2020. I haven’t seen any of the boys since last year. We talk, but I haven’t actually seen them.”
He also reflected during the wide-ranging interview about a break the Rolling Stones went on during the 1980s, and told The AP that his experiences as a frontman with another band, The Winos, “opened” his eyes to how much Jagger does for the Stones.
“The Winos came together because of the Stones around ’86 said, there was a definite hiatus," Richard said. “Let’s put it that way.”

He continued: “It’s understandable, especially in retrospect, after those many years, Mick and I and the whole band (thinking), ‘Is the whole world just the Rolling Stones?’ I suppose it was that kind of feeling. And I think Mick had it more than I did. But at the same time, we did need a break from each other and as it turned out, it was a great help to us both.”
