Because even in California, its winter...and it's been a cold, cold winter...and when the light go out, it means that the everyday reminders of winter are gone...YET, the springtime take a long way around...now we just have that California dreaming attitude to keep us snuggly-wuggly

(or something like that)

I try not to look too deeply into this song as it is my fave Stones song...I dont want to crud up what that song does to my sense of being when I hear it.
