Today 50 years ago, the third Isle of Wight Festival started, that day Kris Kristofferson played Blame it on the Stones” (a song with special meaning to Rocks Off regulars LOL).
Due to poor sound, the audience was unable to hear his set, and it appeared that they were jeering him. He was eventually booed off the stage because the audience could not properly hear his song "Blame It on the Stones" and ignorant members of the audience assumed he was criticizing our Rolling Stones!!!
Thanks to former Rocks Off regular and great friend "Nasty Habits", we have a CD with a compilation of songs talking about the Rolling Stones, now it’s time to make a second CD (now a playlist), adding a lot of more songs like the GTOs, Patti Smith, etc.
So let’s go get dead-drunk, 8-miles high, have unconventional sex and play loud rock and roll, after all we can blame it in the Stones for that and for everything!
Here the song, as played on August 26, 1970, from the Triple LP “The First Great Rock Festivals of the Seventies", enjoy
