The Vocal Range and Best Performances of Mick Jagger

I found this online and thought it was pretty cool; this site studies and curates the vocal ranges of various popular singers from their lowest to highest notes, then determines their best vocal performances based on a specific criteria (technical difficulty, covered range, emotion).

I was pleasantly surprised to see Mick has nearly four octaves worth of range, though I guess it shouldn't surprise since he's utilized a fair amount of falsetto in his upper register.

His best performances were determined to be as follows:

1. Monkey Man
2. Angie
3. Moonlight Mile
4. I Got the Blues
5. Beast of Burden
6. Almost Hear You Sigh
7. Sweet Thing
8. Paint It, Black
9. (I Can't Get No) Satisfaction
10. Worried About You

Live:
1. Worried About You (Paris 2003)
2. Beast of Burden (Some Girls Live in Texas)
3. Don't Tear Me Up (Webster Hall 1993)
4. I Got the Blues (Fonda Theatre 2015)
5. That's How Strong My Love Is (Roseland Ballroom 2002)
6. Just My Imagination (Hampton Coliseum 1981)
7. Sister Morphine (Fonda Theater 2015)
8. You Can't Always Get What You Want (Rock and Roll Circus)
9. She Smiled Sweetly (Roseland Ballroom 2002)
10. Rip This Joint (Webster Hall 1993)

Great, there are some underrated songs, probably because they are not known by a regular like Let it Loose, Jiving Sister Fanny, Rip this Joint  and Hard Woman

His most soulful, and one that can be put up against any soul singer is #2 on the live list. His performance of Beast of Burden in 78 is extraordinary.

I'm shocked that Gimme Shelter is not on there. There is no singer in the world that can come close to him there, not even close.

Someone has a lot of time on their hands.

Interesting list. Quite a vague criteria though.

Personally, I dont think he's ever done a vocal performance to top 'Let It Loose'

I think the widest vocal range in rock are Joni Mitchell and Freddy Mercury

Nice list! I would have put love in vain on it, specially the one from Roundhouse '71. And Out Of Control... (it's the song he doesn't play when he's not in great shape. Cool Post, thanks!

Actually, it's neither. Mike Patton of Faith No More has a range spanning over six octaves I believe. He has a thread on that website with more detail. Axl Rose is up there as well at around five octaves.

Freddie had just under four octaves of range. Joni's range is quite wide but there are other female singers who outstrip her (Mariah Carey for example).

WOW, that's wide

Didn't know that; my guess about Freddy and Joni is based on what I have listened
