Corona Virus - what is happening with you?

In Florida we have over 3000 cases. Broward County where I live has the highest number of cases and deaths. There is a curfew in place and non essential businesses are closed. Unfortunately for me, my job is considered essential so I have to go to work and risk my life. On the bright side, many of my friends are laid off with no income coming in. I don't want to go to work next week so I am going to try to get a Dr note so I can stay safe. Very stressful and scary!

I'm wondering what everyone else is going through/

Well I retired March 1st and was planning to move back to Canada. My house is empty except for me and hoping the closing does actually happen but three weeks is a long time. I live alone so that part of isolation is common for me. So many people in peril and not knowing what their future might hold. Lets hope we all make it through this and thanks to all here for the friendship and laughs over the years. Be safe! For now I'm exiled on Main Street.

Sent home from work last Monday. I expect to be off for 2-3 months although its possible I might be called in to do some admin cover at some point. Its not possible for me to work from home. Thankfully as a government worker, I'm being paid. Lots of things to do around the house though!

UK is pretty much in lockdown since last week for an initial period of 3 weeks although its expected it may be extended for another couple of months at least, with the death toll expected to peak in a couple of weeks.

I'm getting used to this 'new' lifestyle, partly because the alternative is too horrible to contemplate. The hardest part is the lack of contact allowed with our parents.

Crazy times. Stay safe, everyone and wash your hands even more than you'd wash your genitals.

Like Gazza, sent home On Wednesday.
I was one of the last holdouts that went to the office...I figured I was safe there as there were only about 15 cars in the lot each day after voluntary WFH was offered.

My wife was exposed yesterday (she's an RN) and now has to follow special protocols and we are now fully separated at home.

Gratefully I do get to work from home (moved 3 computers and 6 monitors home).

My glimmer Twins start on-line school tomorrow, but they have been mountain biking, having lacrosse and softball catches in the back and have managed to build about 500 yds of biking trails in the woods behind the house. Glad they have each other and luckily the fighting has been at a minimum between the two. They had a virtual sleepover on Friday nite with 4 friends...lots of laughter was heard from the bedrooms. They even streamed a move together.

I am supporting local businesses as best as I can, Local bottle shop still delivering otherwise its curbside service only. Any local restaurant I order from is 2 days worth of food. Our town just passed a relief aid program for local businesses, so happy about that. Hardware store is making some change from me as I find little projects to do.

Wondering if this is enough to make the Stones just call it quits for the road for good. I would not blame them. They had a decent run since 2013.
This downtime will give them time to work on another compilation album for everyone to buy.

Middle boy working at grocery store, college now online
Oldest son working 2 jobs but few hrs. college online
No easy but we'll make it!

Greece had all its stores (and schools) closed for almost three weeks now, many people working from home and you can only leave your house to go to the supermarket/pharmacy/doctor or walk the dog. Of course many are abusing this system and they're getting 150 Euro fines. We have about 1100 incidents and 30 deaths. The official government line is that we're doing very well because we took measures early on, but there are lots of complaints for tests not being made and lack of supplies in hospitals.

The Greeks are also experiencing collective major frustration because they won't be able to travel to their home villages/islands for Easter and get super drunk and bloated from food like they do each year Grin

A TV channel showed "Contagion" twice in two weeks' time and people went totally bananas with it. Our channels are the worst, almost constant, shameless fear mongering all day long, you watch that for even 20 minutes, get a guaranteed panic attack.

Me, I'm getting cabin fever and going back and forth between a crazy conspiracy scenario like "They're lying to us!!!" to "I don't want to die!" with rare in-between pauses Grin

But really, I think eventually we'll all get through this nasty thing, hopefully they'll come up with an effective treatment soon enough.
