I think its simply a case of the two vocals on '100 years ago' being recorded a few months apart (the demo is probably Nov/Dec 72 and the final overdubs were done May-June 1973). Its not uncommon for lyrics to have a few rewrites or tweaks done before they're finished.

Glyn Johns' mixes of 'Silver Train' 'Dancing with Mr D' and 'Heartbreaker' also have a few minor lyric changes, so they appear to be different takes (at least in parts).

I believe this may be the first time in 22 years of this message board that someone has used the expression temps perdu in a post. Well done.

Just saying how much I enjoyed that new GHS!!! It was never my favourite Stones album in the past, as I'm more into the Beggars Bleed Sticky On Main Street-era but hell, they did a real good job on this one. Hoping for more to come, e.g. a complete re-do of LYL that should make it sound better and present more of El Mocambo.
