I thought we could do a monthly walkthrough of the Stones' songs, starting with the very first. Basically, any facts about the songs the boys have said over the years; along with your opinion of said track. So, we start with the very first song released as a single by The Rolling Stones: Come On. The song, a Buddy Holly cover, was recorded on May 10th 1963 and released on June 7th 1963, this marking the beginning of the Stones some 55 years ago. Produced by manager Andrew Loog Oldham, the song was apparently rushed in its recording (at least according to a handwritten note by Brian Jones) and the band was not satisfied with the final product as they feel it didn't capture their capabilities well.
The B-Side, I Want To Be Loved, was a Willie Dixon cover.
Lineup for both songs: Mick Jagger - Vocals Keith Richard - Guitars Brian Jones - Harmonica Bill Wyman - Bass Guitar Charlie Watts - Drums
