Atlanta Falcons want to forget the stunning Super Bowl meltdown that led the team to choke on a 28-3 lead. New Orleans T-shirt retailer Dirty Coast isn't going to let that happen.
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports Dirty Coast is trying to get a new billboard erected outside of the Falcon's new stadium emblazoned with the now-infamous 28-3 third quarter score.
Dirty Coast wants to put a similar billboard in New Orleans close to the Saints' Mercedes-Benz Superdome.
The retailer, which has stores on Magazine Street and on Royal Street in the French Quarter, put out a call for donations Tuesday (Aug. 2) on social media and its blog. It is trying to raise $2,000 toward the cause. Leftover cash will be donated to charity, the store said.
"Is it an epic act of trolling? Maybe. Is it hilarious? You bet," the store's blog reads.
Dirty Coast had raised $500 as of Friday afternoon, according to the retailer's Twitter account.
Dirty Coast already sells T-shirts with the 28-3 design. The billboard would have the same design.
