RIP Chris Youlden (1943 - 2025)

Lead singer and pianist of Savoy Brown, one of the greatest British blues bands, one fo the few bands loyal to the blues until the end

He was with the band in the very early days, then some solo albums and then dissapeared from the music scene. I couldn't find any news about his passing, he died on April 4

Love love love Sly and of course the Family Stone.
I saw them in concert in my home town university when I was 18 years old and again in Florida about 3 years later. They were quite late both times which was normal. I can still see them walking on stage one by one in their colorful outfits. Great memories from well over 50 years ago.
Dance to the music has always been one of my favorite songs of all time. I always said if that track can’t get you off your ass and rock, I don’t know what can.

In fact, regardless of the picture quality, it's a great header with a cool moment in stones history.

This comes from the studio sessions at The Record Plant, in Sausalito, CA late August 1975.

In the sessions we have Bill Wyman producing and playing bass and singing, Sly Stone playing piano and singing, Leon Russell on keyboards, Van Morrison on vocals and sax, Joey Walsh on guitar, and Jim Keltner on drums, with Emilio Castillo, Lenny Pickett, Stephen "Doc" Kupka, Greg Adams and Mic Gillette on horns and vocals

This was the headers, and LOL lick to watch but not that session, and not that musicians but a cover of one of them, Sly Stone:
