Just heard the news.

When it was announced he had stage 4 cancer it seemed like he as near the end.

The first I saw, or even heard of, The New York Dolls was their famous appearance on Old Grey Whistle Test. I remember back then I was thinking he was trying to copy Mick. Whispering Bob Harris called them Mock Rock.

How wrong he was.

He was a hidden legend in Mexican Rock, a pianist since the 60s, known as a member/producer of El Tri / Three Souls in my Mind

He was also the brother of one of my best friends

Joey Molland died yesterday.

Very sad for those of us here in the Twin Cities, where he lived for the last forty years. I played two gigs with him fifteen years ago when I was in a Beatle tribute. Man, did he have some stories! And very approachable lad as well.
